Dino Rossi will be a fantastic governor! He has lots of great and positive ideas for this state that will help lead us to great things!

I am so tired of the Democrat Party mafia of the government of Washington State...Where do Christine Gregoire's daughters work? They work in Senator Maria Cantwell's office, and Senator Patty Murray's office!! Is it a coincidence that KING 5 repeatedly shows Gregoire hand-in-hand with Murray and Cantwell? Over and over again? I think they showed it three times in that clip. What influence do Cantwell and Murray hold over Gregoire now that they have the threat of employing her daughters? It's all soo slimy. I'm also tired of Gregoire being in Olympia for FORTY YEARS. What is Dino, like, 45 or something? He was five years old when Gregoire started working in Olympia?? Oh we need change, all right, and it's change in Olympia!!

If Christine Gregoire is such a good governor, why are all of her ads on radio and TV personal attacks on Dino? Shouldn't she be touting her "WONDERFUL" balanced budget, her transportation timeline, and the fact that she wants to impose a state tax on all of her adoring citizens? Give me a break! Dino will bring back honesty and integrity back to Olympia, which has been missing for a long time. Small businesses have done nothing but suffer under Gregoire, and it is time for people to be proud of the governing of their state. Go Dino!

I think the voters of Washington see right through Dino Rossi. Here is a Republican who is trying to distance himself from the downfall of the present Republican agenda and calling himself GOP. Maybe Mr. Rossi is trying to link GOP to mean GAY OLD PARTY. Mr. Rossi's has Flip Floped on all the issues that really concern our state and is just another big business supporter. We need to support Christine Gregoier. She's done a wonderful job, and will continue to do so with all our support.

Allen Schauffler and David Postman questioned Gubernatorial Candidate Dino Rossi on the BIAW ads, portraying the ads as negative, and asked Mr. Rossi if he would work to pull the ads.

Am wondering if Schauffler and Postman will hammer on Gregoire over the ads being run by her supporters and Evergreen Progressive, all negative ads.

I am a female general contractor who builds Green in our state. I was never more insulted than the time and effort thousands of builders took to have dialog with L&I and the governor regarding a pending L&I Heat Stress Bill. It was a repressive, ridiculous ruling that is 545 pages long. It was passed in spite of our efforts.

I am a small business who has spent quite a bit of time on compliance with this ONE rule. I still need to pay someone for a full day of training classes in order to avoid fines. Can anyone out there understand that a 545 page rule is ludicrious? Our governor approved this.

Boeing left Washington state because of a negative business climate and specifically named Wa. State L&I as the main issue. I do not want an attorney running our state. I care about Green, the environment, roads, high taxes, tax on gas with the already high prices we endure, and so on. There are so many things wrong it is unbelievable. We have lost doctors and Boeing, builders aren't far behind. What is next?

It is time to wake up.

This State desperatly needs Dino Rossi as it's Governor. The Democratic Party in this State is so crooked that you cannot believe anything that they say. For instance, look at the huge gas tax she put on the people of this State, and almost nothing has been done to correct the mess our people drive in everyday. All the Democrates want are more and more taxes and larger and larger government, both of which she has accomplished. There is no doubt that Christine Gregorie got into office by voter fraud, she knows it, but could not bring herself to admit it and step down. She does not care about the people of this State, but cares only for Herself. Dino will really care for and work forthe people of our State.

Dino Risso should be elected Governor because of his articulate, no-nonsense campaign style; all of which Christine Gregiore's campaign and Governship severly lacked. Another four years of Gregiore and we would be forced to adopt the communist red in place of our beautiful green flag, and that would certainly be disappointing- well, disappointing to the republicans; I don't know if the democrats would even notice. As an aside, I would just like to say that King5 conducted a very liberally biased interview and provided cheap, trash-talk commentary which left honest journalism and ethics up in the air. It is clear who King5 is working for, and its not the people.

I believe rossi and gregoire are not good for this state and that is why it is time to hear about the other 8 candidate. It is time to hear what James White has to say as candidate for Governor. How can you honestly say we have a free and fair election when the media only promotes 2 candidates. I would be more than happy to debate to debate either one and show the public they have better options.

I thought many of the questions were trivial and not relevant to the voters. I am definitely voting for Dino Rossi because we have to have a governor that has some fiscal responsibility. Frankly, I am appalled that the Democratic Party still supports Gregoire with her over the top shady dealings. I guess they feel the voters will just go party no matter what. The PI report on her contracts with the Indian Casinos is beyond the paleand it is what convinced me that we need a change now. She is probably the biggest crook we have ever had in the Governor's Office. I calculate that by the end of this year, the taxpayers will have lost over 560 million dollars. In a state budget, that is a significant amount. I have heard nothing from her that even remotely suggests that maybe she should reevaluate her actions. Gregoire needs to go. We do not need a governor who is ethically challenged.The only thugs in this group are Gregoire and her special interests that are trying to corrupt our government.

Gregoire and the democrats before her have wasted so much of our money it's ridiculous and when they run short it's always about raising taxes. I don't think Gregoire won the last election and I pray she doesn't win this one. I wish more people like Dino Rossi would run for other offices as well. King County Council needs some straight talking honest people who listen to the public too.

As far as I'm concerned Dino was ready to run state government 4 years ago and this state would have been better off today if he had been the confirmed electee. What has been done in the four years of the Gregoire reign that has been a positive? Hmmmmm. Nothing comes to mind. Yes, Dino is ready to take the reins and rein in BIG government.

Gov. Gregiore is a joke and a fraud. Now that all the dead people have been purged from the voter rolls, maybe we can have a fair count of the ballots. The Republicans had better be watching closely the Dems in this state will stoop to any thing to win. I don't trust them.

Sounds to me like the same old Dino we heard the first time around. I didn't hear any of those "great ideas that a couple of others mentioned they thought he said, just a lot more criticism. I still don't see any real proof of the claim that the Democrats "stole" the election. It could have just as easily been the Republicans caught trying to steal the election. As far as the negative spots on the radio and TV, they were first introduced by Dino’s supporters and he sees nothing wrong, thinks they are alright if "he" thinks they are true. Then he makes some silly statement that he can’t control these outside groups (that doesn’t sound very gubernatorial does it?) So much for his honesty and integrity, as if he felt the negative ads could or were hurting his campaign, they would stop in a heartbeat. Heck if you want to check out the honesty and quality of the GOP or Republicans, as Dino used to call himself, just look at the fiasco during their own primary and candidate selection. They were even trying to cheat each other. So much for Republican Party and what some of the writers say about their “lock” on honesty and integrity. They always seem to unwittingly expose themselves as a party run by mean spirited, grumpy, sour old men.

Rossi is running again because he sees crystal clear, the opportunity to get the top state desk job. It couldn't get any better for him. Running for any political office costs mega-bucks and no individual is going to have a go at it twice unless they smell blood.. Christine has trashed the place. She feels confident that sucking every last dollar and then a bit more out of business and individuals is perfectly OK. Here's the twist. Rossi believes the same thing. If he's elected, and he likely will be, its doubtful all those new "revenue enhancers" that have popped up in the last few years will be rolled back to the beach. He'll go on the "no new taxes" wagon as a permanent campaign. HE won't have to raise anything. Christine and company have done that for him. Sweet deal.

I personally am disturbed about Rossi's past Real Estate ties with a felon. As I remember, the Seattle times years ago said he was involved with a real estate partnership that obtained loans for people which would now be considered "subprime". His partner/boss went to prison for fraud and when he came out of prison Dino Rossi went back to work with him. Let's examine Dino Rossi's prior business dealings and prior experience before he got into politics. Also why won't he release his tax returns? Does he have something to hide or is it because he's broke without another government job/bailout. I think he's sleeze. Remember Gregoire led the tobacco settlement for most of the US while Washington Attorney General and and won. Politics is ugly but at least get someone in that's competent and Gregoire is competent. So much is passed on as rumour and not fact checked. Rossi is a "shame".

Dino will help bring the Sonics back. Good enough for my vote!

Washington state has a lot of problems politically, but electing Republicans is not the answer. if you want to see what a "business friendly" Republican state looks like, go to Texas. sure we can fix our transportation problems... but get ready for a lot of flyover ramps and concrete jungles while mass transit funding goes flat. get ready for South Lake Union to look like Ballard except 3 times as high. and you know what we really need more of in Washington state...? Walmart! if that is the path that Washington chooses, i'm packing my bags for Oregon. i didn't move up here to watch the state buy into the Republican lie that corporations and real estate developers can solve all our problems while keeping the interests of everyone in mind. if you let these folks run amok, the only interests they'll serve are their own, there will be more careless development in places like Chehalis, and Seattle will be nothing but condos and houses no one but the wealthy can afford.

I have been a satisfied resident of Washington the last four years and I see no reason to change that. Maybe our current govenor isn't the best in the world, but compared to Rossi, she is great. Dino Rossi is as ruthless and scheming as republicans get, and I would vote for any other republican over him. Take last election for example. He chastised Christine for disputing the vote and asking for a recount saying she should just trust the system and accused her of being a bad loser. Once the recount was finalized and she ended up on top he turned right around and did the SAME thing he had previously condemed her for doing, and he pulled out all the strings to accuse her campaign of illegal actions. I wouldn't want someone who is so malicious and quick to condem as my governor. Would you?

Look, when it comes to Dino or Christine, they're both pretty much morons. Gary Locke was the last effective govenor we had, however, the problem was he was only good when the State had the bank to spend; when Washington ran out of money, he became ineffectual.

Christine is just as ineffectual, I never hear about anything she's done, because she doesn't do anything. She sits in the office and looks..well, she doesn't really look that pretty, she just looks.

Dino on the other hand, I dont trust as far as I could throw him. That being said, our next Washington Election is not actually about choosing which will do the better job.

Instead, its about choosing between the bigger and the smaller pile of human waste.

Considering how willing Dino was to waste state resources by filling a frivilous lawsuit crying fraud, I'm sure he'd be just as willing to miuse other state resources just to score cheap political points.

Remember, his lawsuit was dismissed, by a hand picked republican judge, because he couldn't prove anything... he knew it, but he still chose to waste the courts time and taxpayer money, becauyse it was all about politcs.

Wow. Im surprised by how many Dinosaur supporters watch television, let alone King 5, the "liberally" biased media out of Seattle. Gregoire has my vote without a doubt. She has done nothing wrong. Governors have such a hard time governing this state because of all the political division we have. She has no choice but to make compromises, which make her look like less of a governor. We have a strong economy in this state, and why? Because we haven't had a republican governor in decades. Lets keep it that way! Taxes provide jobs. Taxes are what make this country different from, say, most African, Latin Amercian, or Asian nations. The more we try to remove taxes, the more entrenched in debt and a failed economy we have. Christine Gregoire is an effective administrator, listens well, and knows how to compromise. Dino Rossi is a poor excuse of a winer who scrambles to offer any meaningful and sensible alternative. Anyway Gregoire's ads tout how Dino voted for smaller class sizes, with the overtone of some lady saying No wonder our school are so overcrowded.

Think about that if it is true, Christine Gregoire has had four years to correct our overcrowded public schools. Has she, NO. Our schools are more over crowded now thab then. And much money has been thrown to the public schools through State funding and through local bonds and levies.

Gregoire pounds on Rossi about wanting to eliminate or reduce teacher's salaries. She has had four years to "fix" this too, but has failed to do so. Still most of the money from levies passed by voters is used for teacher salaries.

Then there is the matter of sexual offenders being released from the prison/jail systems across our great state.

Funny how teachers across the State are blowing a cork about sexual offenders moving into neighborhoods (Everett mansion) but it is the teachers union that throws so much money to Gregoire, why...because they know she will leave them to their own devices with regards to accountability.

We are so hyped up on education, and refuse to do anything to make it BETTER. As a matter fact, we lower the standards so that more kids can pass. Oh now there's a solution.

I had to leave one more comment, I see alot of Christine supporters "bashing" Dina calling him a Nazzi, and other names. Is that how you deal with the issues at hand? I have three children in school between elementary and Jr High and I agree that standards have been lowered. I also agree that too many sex offenders are set free when they should be locked up (FOR LIFE). I think the people speak in wanting offenders locked up for life. Christine has spoken by not keeping offenders locked up and not doing anything to help out our schools on a larger scale, continue passing the buck and continue calling names, it really shows what you know. GO ROSSI, Bring the change that we all need, and remember Washington State has been demacratically controled since the early 80s, so keep blaming the rebublicans because it makes you look like a moron.

Name calling and the like is what opinions come forth from those who get their current events information from People Magazine or ESPN while sitting on the couch with a beer and a bag of potato chips to keep them company. To them, its a sporting event with winners, losers and injuries inflicted and nothing more. This is why you see comments from some who actually believe that Rossi can "get the sonics back". They have no fundamental knowledge of the candidates and are too lazy to even get off their butts and read a book, let alone do any surface level research on someone who is going to run the state or the country. If Hitler came back from the dead and ran on the republican or democratic ticket, their are those that think he would make a great leader and should hold office and would vote for him. Don't remember who coined the phrase but we have all heard it "if it aint broke don't fix it". Well that is what this election is about.

If the schools are not perfect now they will be worse under Gino N's guidance. It takes money to run these things. He would fullfill his promise to lower taxes which would help out maybe 3 percent of the population in addition to large businesses (Greed is Good Gordon Gecko!!!). The remaining 97 percent of us potato chip eating beer drinking espn watching working joes and janes (that describes me to a t)would suffer similar to how we are suffering on a national level.

Washington is a Democratic state plain and simple. We are not experiencing the same level of pain economically as the red states are under the misguidance of the current republican administration. I feel completely lied to. My taxes have gone up and I see absolutely NO MOVEMENT on transportation (the projects going on now have been on the books for years, no thanks to CG)

I'm know Rossi is not perfect and I know he has the all so dreaded R behind his name, but hey he balanced the budget with Locke (without raising taxes) and I feel he will run a clean more efficient office than CG. Four more years of CG??? Four more years of more tax and nothing to show for it?

It's about time Dino is re-elected back as Governor. I'm so sick and tired of businesses being punished, and hard workers being taxed to death in this state. I'm not voting for the communist party, I'm voting for Dino.

We've had 25 years of controlling Democrats and if you are that old, ask yourself, what have we gained? If you are rich, or live in the richer cities, dead, or a felon, you have it made. The rest of us have to find a way to buy food, pay the utilities, babysitters, pay rent or mortgage. I would like the Governor to live on our salaries for a couple of months, maybe she would have a better understanding of life is really about., otherwise why doesn't she just move to Russia, she would make a great dictator!

I don't believe either on of them with do as they promise, nor to make "huge" changes outside of the budget. ledog3, You are right there are no acting dictators in russia in immediate power. Don't be nieve Russia as come a long way since 1989 but is still found wanting. Also some of her bills such as DUI Check Points, and vehicle exhuast restrictions (from SEMA sponsered 92 Db to no louder the OEM) do seem awfully far to the left to just be deemed liberal. Those laws step on the toes of law abiding citizens just so she can say she has been pushing legislation to curb the problems! These solutions by the way are no answere to the bigger problems!

This is my 3rd posting; my comment will be in regards to the claims about Dino Supporters not knowing how to read.
Gregoire's history:
Born Auburn WA 1947.
Grew up on a small farm and attended UW graduated 1969 with her teachers certificate and a bachelors degree.
She then attended Gonzaga in Spokane graduating in 1977, then going to work as assistant attorney general for Slade Gordon (R).
She married had 2 daughters and was working getting children out of abusive situations etc...
1988-1992 She was the director of Wa State DPT of Ecology, I knew people that worked for Ecology and she was not a pleasant person (3rd party info). 1992 Attorney General, she focused on getting down on big Tobacco (cudo's).
2004 became Governor.
Although she did well in getting money from tobacco (I feel there was no defeat, it was mainly to get money for anti Tobacco propaganda).
No one can argue the deformed budget that she led in her role and the issues and lawsuits that have come about due to her not meeting deadlines in court proceedings, one instance a victim was disabled (being monitored by DSHS) and she sued do to the lack of the person whom was suppose to be cared for. She sued the state because NUMEROUS complaints were made. The state lost the suit and WE (the people) paid 9 MILLION dollars, the Attorney Generals office didn’t meet a deadline and the court unanimously favored the victim. Her office fell through just as it has currently as Governor. Our State lets out too many sex offenders (Democrats have always been known for that). There are many other incidences where law suits were lost and large sums of our (WA TAX PAYERS) money was paid. If her office was more aggressive money might still have been paid, but not in those large amounts.
She obviously knows the law, I feel although the last election was by the law there was some ballots from our military people that weren’t counted, and some of the ballots that King County irresponsibly lost should not have been counted. She should have conceded after the second count. That just shows that our laws need changed and that King County was irresponsible, jobs "SHOULD" have been lost over that issue because the same people are still in the King County elections office.

When I look at the economy, first may I add yes Seattle and the greater Puget Sound is doing "OK". And yes some Red States aren’t doing so well. Compare the two, first we have industry and ships that come to port and deliver goods, something Alabama does not have.
Second, we have Microsoft (well luckily because wasn’t it the Clinton admin that tried to split them up in 1998), Ill quote Bill Gates, "do you expect Pepsi to put one can of Coke in each six pack". We still have Boeing, luckily. You can’t blame Boeing for what they have done, makes sense they would take some jobs to an area where the workers will work for less money, good business sense and we still have some jobs here. So when you think economy we are in a state that will do well regardless of who is running it. My concern is when I pay tax to buy something at the store, or when I fill my tank and pay my property tax I want to know that the people in charge are spending it wisely. I don’t want to work harder because people on welfare have children they can’t pay for, I have my own children and I don’t expect hand outs so get off crack and get a job. I want to know that if we have a child that is under the watch of the state by a social worker, that if there are numerous complaints they won’t be overlooked. I want to know that if there is a lawsuit, that the Attorney General will meet deadlines and settle out of court for lower amounts. I want to know this because it’s my money they are spending and it all started when I went to work and earned my paycheck.
I am voting for Rossi, he is full of NEW ideas and will bring NEW policies and a strict budget; after all he has "EXPERIENCE". I am not concerned with big business, after all Boeing, Microsoft and Wal-Mart aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. My concern is with the small business (specifically the high B&O taxes they pay). I would rather buy a product for a few bucks more than pay some large business less when that business is paying uneducated children in 3rd world countries to build it so they can save me a buck. I would rather not have children and their parents worried that because our State DOC dropped off a sex offender under a bridge now they can’t play outside. I would rather be able to call the police on a complaint and have them arrive in 10 mins vs. 30. Change is needed, if you can’t see it and all you think about is "well she did OK" your blind. Lower taxes benefits only 2 groups. 1. business (who have no care about people just profits and stock value)and 2. the richest three percent of our population who hold 97 percent of the assets and don't give a rip about anyone but thier stocks and saving money to buy nice things. How's that for a simplification??

I want someone in office who represents the other 97 percent who need good schools, well armed and trained police officers, well armed and trained firefighters, good roads, clean air, libraries that stay open for normal hours and not modified hours due to lack of funds, parks, recreational activities, healthcare programs, etc....

Someone who has more than one million dollars should pay a larger portion of the tax burden to finance these programs because they use more of the programs than a crack addicted mother. They need great roads to drive the suv's on, they need police and fire to protect their vast assets, they need libraries and schools for their children. If a person has more than one million dollars, taxing them a little bit more is fine. It helps pay for the programs they use.

I keep paying taxes and do not complain. I make almost 6 figures and do not mind paying more than someone making 20,000 or heaven forbid a crack addicted mother who pays nothing but takes the crumbs the state hands out. Oh my.....

If I am going to go after government waste it sure isn't going to be spent going after the tiny portion that goes to health care or feeding and housing the poor. As a Christian, Dino Rossi's ties to the "Christian Right" in this state worry me. A lot. This group does not need to be empowered any further than they are. National politics do affect local. With the balance of a democratic governor in this state we have been spared a lot of the pain seen throughout the nation. I attribute this directly to our local government governing its own in a compassionate manner which ultimately has helped most if not all. Is it perfect? Naw, but as mentioned earlier it's good. Can it be made better? Sure there is room for improvement in everything. Is the answer to the states problems going to be fixed by a republican pro business governor? Definitely not. Will these problems have a chance of getting fixed by an administration which is governing for the people of the state or by a very pro business republican? In Vegas, they are building a stadium for a team they don’t have, but I guarantee they will get a team. They aren’t "STUDYING" impacts. Seattle is one of the few places that the "PERMIT" costs more than the build (including rebuild). This goes for residential and not commercial. So we the 97% cannot even use barely 60% of our property, thanks to Ron Simms (D). Let’s take your condo and only allow you to use 60% of that, how will that work for you. Also, King County has in the past few years changed the logo. OK, although Martin Luther King JR. was a great man he wasn’t born here, Washington wasn’t even a State until 1888, so what’s the point? I know how about this; put a nice big fir tree as a logo, or an airplane. Wasn’t logging a HUGE part of Washington and Seattle’s beginning. Or how about Mr. Chief Seattle (Indian), since it was named after him. Go back and listen/read her campaign promises. How many has she kept? How much have our taxes increased? How much has she truly done to make WA State a better place? How is Education faring these days? Oh, yes, Educators got a raise - but not enough to keep good educators, and not enough to entice good educators to stay. Our schools are still terribly over-crowded and under-funded. Taxes are sky-high and growing. What have we got to show for it? Not much.

She even wants to add more expense to each of our already strained budgets by talking about also wanting a state income tax too. NO THANKS!!

Gregoire has controlled our state long enough after cheating in 2004.. What do you know bad things have happened since SHE has been in office;The loss of Boeing,The loss of the Sonics,and more freaking taxes (the gas tax too, She has spent 8 Billion dollars, More then any Governor in office (on what Cheetos? I have not seen much of a change) .. All Gregoire cares about is herself and money and the city of Seattle (maybe not even Seattle we lost Boeing and the Sonics).
I live in the Seattle area but I have relatives in Spokane and I am told that the economy over her sucks and it has the last 10 years or more since a Democrap... oh I mean democrat has been in office. People over here make so much less then people in Seattle unless you have a Degree in something, not all people do, and not all people do in Seattle and they make more. This proves that Gregoire does not care about the people of Eastern WA, if she did she would have done something about the economy in Eastern WA along time ago. Plus what about the roads in Eastern WA, they suck! I believe she is looking at part of the picture not the whole picture.

It reminds me of this lady who lives 4 houses down from me on the same road. She had Dino Rossi posters in her yard for the previous election that he lost (like he will on this one). Well she had a domestic violence situation at her house with her crack hoe daughter and her boyfriend who were living with her. Police we getting called out once a month at least. I could not help but laugh every time I saw that sign. Here is one bright cookie. Calls the police all the time (tax paid officers) and wants to elect someone who will cut funding to police and other infrastructure which makes this state such an awesome state.

Oh yeah, and she always blew the stop sign in her little bmw with complete disregard for those of us who had kids in the neighborhood. Typical republican mentality, laws don't apply to them and they are above the rules for which the rest of us have to pay for.

If Gov Gregoire really made a hiring freeze and a "travel" freeze, why is she traveling all around the state to attend funerals, to welcome home the troops, etc. Oh, yea, she's running for re-election, so her "rules" don't apply to her, if it gets her on the evening news. Nobody wants to be in an attack ad granted, but after seeing what I saw, I am in disagreement with him and whatever possible future freedoms he and his party cares to encroach upon.

For all of you who seam to fave the GOP just remember this; Republicans tend to win us over with promises of tax breaks only to have the vast majority of the tax braes go to the rich and not the pore and middle class the ones that need them the most. I don't have a party preference but Rossie is not the right person. He has a plan for a new 520 bridge that will have no new taxes and use money for the general fund. There is not that kind of money in the general fund to pay for a new bridge. It is likely that under Rossie money will be taken from education, WIC and other areas that many people in this state depend on to pay for a bridge.

Dino Rossi has been my Govenor for the last four years. He was certified twice before King Co "appointed" Tax Queen Gregoire using felons and dead people. She is clearly in the pocket of the tribes and like all democrat politicians never saw a tax she didn't love. She loves to spend money......as long as it's someone elses. It's time for Dino.

I partially owe Gregoire my life, because she ratified the LBGT bill of rights last summer. Before that happened, as a closeted trans-woman I was nearing the end of my wits and considering suicide as a way out. Gregoire is a historic govoner, by ratifying that bill, she made a huge step forward to protect the rights of LBGT people. People like me, who just want to live a normal life, without fear of discrimination. Dino is not a liberal republical like Swartzeneger is. He is a rabid conservative Christian who would do whatever it takes to prevent LBGT people from finally achieving equality in this state. It really scares me that people are willing to bargain away gay rights just to potentially save a few pennies.

God made you one specific gender for a reason, sad that you cannot be comfortable in the skin you were born in. Amazing that so much time and effort goes into altering ones looks and not into a cure for cancer. Given that so many children die from it and never have a chance to grow into adult hood. Selfish that you would consider gender altercation above this. If suicide was your only gig, dont people get locked up considered "mental health" risk in that situation. Sorry I dont mean to sound heartless but it was good of Queen Christine to do something just to score a few small votes, you dont actually beleive she did it for equality do you?

I think if rossi wins our state will fall into disrepair.. and maybe the richer will be better off with their kids in private schools. But for the good of the whole state (roads, envrionment, social standards, etc), dino should never be elected. Washington State is doing great nationally.. Keep up the good work!

The Governor does not write laws. The legislature writes and passes laws and the Gov signs or does not sign them. I am aware of no sex offender law the legislature has passed that Gov Gregoire did not sign. Concerned about sex offenders getting out of prison? Talk to your state senator or representative, but don't blame the Gov for not signing laws that haven't been presented to her.

I do know that Gov Gregoire set aside a portion of her office's budget to pay for a pilot project to track sex offenders with GPS. Absent laws being sent to her by the legislature, this would seem to be the best that the separation of powers that defines our system of government will allow.

Blaming Zina Linick's death on Gov Gregoire? Terapan Adhon was convicted of his earlier sex offense over a decade before Gov Gregoire took office. So how is it, exactly, that his crime is her fault?

Blaming Gov Gregoire for one of her staff attorneys at the AG's office missing an appeals deadline (in 2000)? First, the AG rarely prosecutes individual cases; she manages the office. If an error occurred, it was the lapse of a subordinate in the office, and not Gov Gregoire herself missing something. Second, the case involved a jury verdict that found a state agency (that Gov. Gregoire did not manage, but her office defended as state attorneys) had failed to prevent harm to some disabled residents. The appeal, had it been filed, would have been to ask the appellate court to overturn the jury's verdict. Whether such an appeal would have been successful is speculative at most. In any event, as AG, Gov. Gregoire investigated how missing an appeals deadline could have happened and implemented processes to prevent a similar error in the future. In the eight years since, I am aware of NO similar event. Isn't that what managers do? Identify problems and fix them? It appears that's what Gov Gregoire did.

The increased gas tax has done nothing? Gee, judging by all the freeway and bridge contruction and maintenance I have to navigate thru every day (e.g., I5 thru Tacoma, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, replacing the Wilburton tunnell), it sure seems like SOMETHING is happening with those funds!

I encourage everyone who has a beef with how Washington is governed to THINK about who actually has the duty or authority to get things done. Not everything is controlled by the governor's office. And thank goodness for that. Separation of powers is a good thing.

Dino may be a competent real estate salesman, making lots of commissions and wheelin' & dealin' for his clients, but that doesn't make him qualified to be governor.

What really convinced me to vote for Gregoire was a trip to eastern Washington, seeing all those sleasy pro-Rossi billboards paid for by his real estate developer friends, the BIAW. It really "clicked" who he would be representing if he got elected.

While I was reading the comments I noticed something. Whenever someone was unsupportive of Dino Rossi they also indicate that they are also completely anti-Republican. So it doesn't matter that Christine has raised taxes, eliminated the stem cell research we were promised, etc. etc. - Dino Rossi will never be good enough because he is not a Democrat. Instead of looking at what both candidates have acheived or what they stand for - they are simply voting Democrat because they don't know any better. And yes I know that Dino is running as GOP.

Not coming out of the closet has made him a very bitter and nasty and slime covered person. It's corruptible. Why else would he allow all those ads to run with the disclaimer saying "no candidate paid for this ad" Shhhhh Mildred, they might get the idea this is a negative ad.
