KING 5 Poll exclusive: Prosecutor's race tight

A new KING 5 poll finds the race for King County prosecutor is very tight, with Democrat Bill Sherman leading Republican Dan Satterberg. SurveyUSA also finds a significant gender gap...

SurveyUSA polled 520 likely voters in King County; the poll has a margin of error of 4.4%:

Dan Satterberg (R): 43%
Bill Sherman (D): 49%
Undecided: 8%

Sherman wins among women; Satterberg wins among men. In fact, SurveyUSA says it's a 34-point gender gap. Satterberg captures 91% of the Republican vote; Sherman gets 79% of the Democratic vote. But Sherman's advantage is that King County has gone largely Democratic in recent years. Click the picture above to watch more.

I have to say Satterberg is the better choice. He has more experience and a good reputation amongst his peers.

Bill Sherman has been rated outstanding and is as good a choice as Satterberg. Lots like more people think he is a better choice.

We could use a change in this position for once. Satterberg has shown himself to be partisan while claiming he isn't. He could at least be honest with voters on that score, but he hasn't been.

As a life long Democrat I find myself surprised to believe that Satterberg is the best choice. However as he points out this shouldn't be a position based on political choice but on experience, which he clearly has the majority of. I find it unfortunate that in this case the fact that our area being predominantly democrat may hinder the best choice for the job.

If elected, what will you do to reel in rogue cops and their chief who cleans up after them in the back room.

Will you be an instrument of the police, or will you protect the people from them?

Satterberg's record gets my vote. I am concerned that Sherman emphasizes his party affiliation so much AND he has been gone from the office the past 12 out of 18 months. What has he run for that takes him away from his job? Why has he been gone so much? Will he continue to take absences if elected as our prosecutor?

Satterberg will get our vote (reluctantly) because I was REALLY put out when we had a phone message from the widow of Norm Maleng! I thought THAT was a cheap shot and so unlike the Lady she is! If Satterberg is that good WHY would he need her help to drum up votes!
