I read the news flash this morning with disbelief. Having known Jennifer Dunn for at least two decades, I simply could not believe my eyes.
She was awesome. She was classy. She was a trailblazer and did so with aplomb.
There will be another Jennifer, though her legacy above all else is as a role model for our young women.
My deepest condolences to her beloved husband and family. Please know we are thinking of you at this unbelievably sad time.

She was truly an outstanding congressperson and I was proud and honored to be represented by her, as an 8th District resident.
Truly a class act all the way.
We've all lost a great role model for public service - of strength, grace, how to hold fast to political principles and concomitantly be be an effective advocate for constituents.
Jennifer was a real leader - of women and men - and a role model. When she spoke to you, she actually was looking and speaking TO YOU, not over your shoulder. She radiated warmth, intelligence and professionalism. Truly a great stateswoman.
Today when I heard the news of Jennifer's passing I didn't want to believe it. How could someone like that be gone? She still had so much to do that she wanted to do with her family, so many things she still wanted to experience. She was my advocate years ago when I lost custody of my child, she tried very hard to help me win a battle that no one could win & when even she couldn't help she still gave me advice. She was kinda like the only mom I had at that time, the only one I felt cared for me. I understand that she was a great leader, a great congresswoman, a pioneer among women but most importantly she was a good person, a loving friend & mother, even to those of us she didn't give birth to, she gave us something more... she gave us hope. I am so sorry for her kids, I can't even imagine what they must be going through right now. I will pray for them, I will cry for me & then I will do what she told me years ago: Pull myself up from the bootstraps & keep on fighting for what's truly important to me. I love you Jen... Brandia
