It was a 'thumpin." So what's the future of the Republican party in Washington state?
The Senate race really wasn't much of a race after all. In the suburbs, Republicans lost significant ground. In the state Senate, Democrats will have a margin not seen since 1965. What should Democrats do with their margin of victory? Do they have a mandate? And what's the future of the state Republican party?

As a Christian conservative, I am fiscally conservative first and socially conservative second.
Most Christians I've met seem to have their priorities visa versa, most believe social conservatism first and tend to be fiscally liberal.
This is the turn off for me with the Republican Party of WA.
In essence they are too liberal for this conservative.
When Republican Party of WA starts adopting fiscal conservatism first again, they may get my vote. If not, I'll continue to vote for a third party that I know will remain on principle.
After listening to Chris Vance on Upfront this morning, it appears the party didn't get the message about fiscal conservatism first.
I will let the party know now that if they run liberals like McCain or Guiliani for Pres don't expect to win in 08.

I can answer your question about Rebublicans in WA. This state is so Democratic it is almost painful. I vote for who I believe will do the best job for me (or us). I do not listen to the negative campaigns and I am sorry that those who are running cannot define the issues and how if elected they will correct any problems or propose legislation to right wrongs etc. Please tell me in the future about you not how your opponnet is wrong because he or she did such and such. I don't care about the past only how you will lead me into the future. Let me decide who I feel is best for the job regardless of party affilation and thats who will get my vote!

The Democrats need not explain their so called "agenda"....
1. Force homosexuality down the throats of our servicemembers.
2. Repeal the Patriot Act, support Islamic terrorism.
3. Run like cowards.
4. Hide like cowards.
5. High taxes.
6. Higher Taxes.
7. Failed socialist agenda.
8. More taxes.
9. A weaker national security.
10. More terrorist attacks on Americans.
Did I get it right? By the way, if you care about our troops and America be at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall in Bremerton on Saturday 2 Dec to shout down Democrats and their fascist loving, pro-Islamic, anti-American left-wing supporters.

What mandate? They're still finding ballots from the 04 election. In 08 with being forced into an all mail in vote, it'll just makes it easier for them (Democrates) to steal yet another election. We've become so lazy that we can't be bothered with going to a pole to vote and to many today are only informed by the 30 sec sound bite. If one can't be informed and take a few minutes out of their lives to vote, maybe they shouldn't vote at all. In 08 with the all mail in, I may not have the time to check it off and take it to the mail box either. After all, it most likly won't be counted until 2010 if at all.
PC and I can't find the time will be the death of this country. Maybe I'll use the time I would've taken to be informed and vote, to practice my sniper skills instead, they'll come in handy soon enough.
McCain is a liberal? He is at least as socially conservative as Bush on balance (not on every issue), and he's a lot more fiscally conservative than Bush. He is more fiscally conservative than most Senators. He is one of the biggest deficit hawks in the Senate, and has been for years.
Also, the GOP in WA puts fiscal conservativism ahead of social conservatism. Yes, social conservatism gets more of the lip service sometimes, but look at the actual actions they perform, bills they push, and so on.
