The Vice President is in demand at fundraisers, though his overall popularity remains low.
Vice President Dick Cheney arrives in Washington state this week. He'll attend a congressional fundraiser in Everett, then another fundraiser for U.S. Senate candidate Mike McGavick in Spokane. With Cheney in the midst of a growing controversy over intelligence leaks, his approval rating has been dropping. So while he is a big draw for donors, is there a drawback for McGavick? In the big picture, does Cheney help or hurt? Will voters in November even care that Cheney came?

Regardless of Cheney's loathsome poll ratings, people are addicted to seeing someone famous. Heck.. even Joey Buttofucco can draw a crowd. Now that Cheney shot someone, he's even more of a cult figure. It's not everyday that you get to see a Vice President that has popped one of his best pals. Actually, it's just his job that is attractive to people, the chance to say you met Deadeye Dick.
