We need the eggs...

brown_chicken.jpgSure we love our felines and canines, but for those of us city dwellers who are lucky enough to have a plot of land, there's an option that you might not have considered: Backyard pets.

Interested in learning about how to keep and care for chickens? Well, you're in luck.

Seattle Tilth is holding their annual City Chickens Coop Tour this Saturday, July 11. Visitors will get a map, but the tour is self-guided, so you can visit the coops at your leisure between 11am and 4pm. The tour is divided into four Seattle neighborhoods--visit them all or just the one that's closest to you. As an extra bonus, homes with goats, ducks and bees are included in this year's tour for the first time!

Tickets cost $30 and allow four individuals to participate ($25 for Tilth members).
