Seems like the Lacey native was the US soccer goalie forever. Now, 38-year-old keeper Kasey Keller will sign on with the Seattle Sounders FC. The announcement, sent to season ticket holders by e-mail, will be made at 2 p.m. Thursday. The second player to be signed by the team, Keller joins Sebastien Le Toux on the infant MLS club.

Keller comes from North Thurston High School and the University of Portland. Last season he played for Fulham FC in the English Premier League. Keller played as keeper for four US World Cup teams, in 1990, 1998, 2002 and 2006. He is also the only person to be named US Soccer Player of the Year three different times, and is the US national teams' all-time leader in wins.

The Sounders FC just announce a new partnership with Microsoft. Xbox Live 360 will be a sponsor for the Sounders FC's jersey. Microsoft paid $20 million for a 5-year deal with the team. Sorry Soccer fans, Brazil star Kaka had knee surgery today (Friday) and is expected to miss the Brazil's exhibition tour this summer. That includes the May 31st matchup with Canada in Seattle. Kaka had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee for damage to his meniscus.

The Canadian National Team today announced the roster that will take on Brazil on Saturday, May 31 at Qwest Stadium. The team said they plan to arrive in Seattle on May 25, to get ready for the match. Canada's roster includes 15 players currently in Europe, led by midfielder Julian de Guzman of Deportivo. Also, six of the players are in the MLS, including Houston Dynamo star midfielder Dwayne De Rosario. Here's a clip of Julian de Guzman:

Like promised, Sounders FC season ticket holders will have say on some team decisions. How the Members Association works was detailed today by the club. Part owner Drew Carey will serve as the association's chairman.

"I'm very excited about what we're doing here in Seattle," said Carey. "Where else can the fans fire the general manager? I hope this becomes a model for every professional sports organization in America."

Fans will have a say about the general manager every four years. The first general manager vote will take place in November, 2012, immediately following the MLS season. Also, members will be invited to an annual meeting hosted by Carey -- the first to be scheduled for later this year.

Got all that? There's more: Members will have the chance to be selected to an Association Council. Council delegates will be nominated on an annual basis. Members interested in participating on the council must receive a minimum of 25 nominations from other association members. The team will begin accepting nominations in June.

Membership is complimentary to season ticket holders. Non-season ticket holders can join the association in June for an annual fee of $125. Benefits include: voting privilege, membership pin, membership card, discount at team shops, invitation to annual meeting, electronic newsletters during the season, and an annual report.
