Lofa Tatupu Out For The Seahawks!

6:13 PM Sun, Oct 18, 2009 |

After a tough loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Seahawks Head Coach Jim Mora delivered a tough blow to the media after the game saying Lofa Tatupu is done for the season. Lofa suffered a torn pectoral muscle while tackling Arizona receiver Larry Fitzgerald in the second quarter. He went to the locker room before halftime and watched the second half in street clothes. Tatupu is a three-time Pro Bowler and will have to undergo surgery to repair the injury. He will be replaced by David Hawthorne at middle linebacker. Coach Mora is optimistic linebacker Leroy Hill will be back after the bye week.

Sorry Mike, I have to say there is nothing wrong with VMAC. Our offense was terrible.

This loss falls solely on the coaches. We knew coming in that the only way to stop Arizona's offense was to get to Warner. We didn't see a blitz until the second quarter. We knew our offense only works in the no huddle with Matt making the calls. We didn't see an entire drive of that the entire game. Greg Knapp should be fired TODAY! The loss of Lofa isn't nearly as negative as our offensive line woes. If we can't slow down the jail breaks, nothing else matters. Plus, Hawthorne is actually playing the position better than Tatupu right now. Same with Kerney, no loss there. We get more consistent pressure from Reid, Tapp, Jackson, and Redding. The Hawks are 2-4, with a fairly weak schedule the rest of the way. This season is not over, but significant changes are necessary; most obviously on the offensive line and in the play calling on both sides of the ball.

I have to agree. The playcalling was horrible. The Seahawks were just sleepwalking through the whole game. The thing that struck me the most from Mora's comments after the game yesterday was when he was asked about the pooch kick that put Arizona in a position to score easily, Coach Mora indicated that he had shown video of the same play from an earlier Cardinals game to the players the day before, presumably to caution them that the Cardinals could possibly try that with them. And yet, come game time, they acted like they had never seen that kind of play before. All told, Seattle stunk out the joint yesterday. It would be nice to get Walter Jones back on the O-line, but I agree that there needs to be some changes there. Let's hope they use the bye week to heal up some and work on the problem areas they are dealing with, or we might be in for a long, long season.

Never give up though, keep bleeding Seahawk blue.
