Seattle Mariners Ace Felix Hernandez was named the American League pitcher of the month for September today. Hernandez went 6-0 with a 1.52 ERA in 7 starts in September & October. King Felix won his final 5 starts, posting a 1.88 ERA during that stretch. The monthly award was the 2nd of his career, also winning the hardware in June to become the first player in club history to earn two such honors during the same season. Overall, the 23-year-old right-hander finished the season 19-5 with a 2.49 ERA in 34 starts. 5 Comments |
