Is it time for Hawks to put Walter Jones to IR?

6:12 PM Mon, Oct 26, 2009 |

Seahawks head coach Jim Mora is still doing the same old song and dance when it comes to Walter Jones and in his future this season. He says he's coming along, but he thinks his return is "iffy". Big Walt is taking up a valuable roster spot. The Hawks will have to make a decision soon. Should they keep Jones on the roster or should they put him on the IR and sign another tackle? And of course, do you think Big Walt is done? Should the future Hall-of-Famer call it a career?

Sounds to me like Mora is just waffling on the issue over whether or not Walter Jones gets to play this year. I think he needs to make up his mind as to whether Jones should play or not. If he is healthy enough then let him play; if not, then don't put him out there and put him on IR. Of course, this gives the team (and the fans) a look at life for the Seattle Seahawks after Walter Jones. Let's face it; Jones is at the twilight of his career as an NFL player. Jones has had a helluva career here, and it will be a real shame if he doesn't get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Bottom line is that Mora needs to quit waffling on this, and just make up his mind.
