Word out of Eugene today is that Oregon Ducks Head Coach Chip Kelly will reinstate Running Back LeGarrette Blount, after initially suspending him for the season after landing a punch on an opposing player following the loss at Boise State last month. Whether or not he actually plays is up to Blount as far as Kelly is concerned. It would not be until at least November 7th. After Oregon has played WSU, UW, and a week after the Ducks home game against USC on Halloween night. There is also to issue of the Conference's best interests as well, and ultimately it is up them. Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott will have the final say. Today he issued a statement: "The University of Oregon may appeal to the Conference for a reduction in the original disciplinary actions taken against LeGarrette Blount... The power to reinstate rests with the Conference, and if and when the university decides to make such an appeal, the Conference will take the matter under advisement and make a decision." Was the initial suspension a knee-jerk reaction in the first place? Does Blount deserve another chance? Would this have gotten so much attention to begin with had the game not been televised nationally? 3 Comments |
Blount shoud NOT be reinstated. He should not be allowed to play football for at least 1 yr and make a public apology. Oregon Ducks who cares if you win games when you have a palyer with such poor behavior/character.Boo!

Just goes to show you the lack of class Oregon has. They start winning a few games and all of a sudden he (Blount) doesn't need to be punished. Way to stick to your guns coach Kelly, Your a man that can be trusted to keep your word!
Who cares of Blount hit someone? people get in fights all the time and nothing is done to them. But just because he was on TV when he did it, he gets punished. It makes no sense to me.
