If you've always wanted to ask a pro athlete a question, but never could? Well now is your chance to do it. We call it "Ask the Sounders." It's your opportunity to ask the coaches or players a question about the game or anything else. We will take the top 3 questions. So put your questions in the "Comments" section.

For Freddie Ljungberg:
On Sundays match, you were execellent, and no doubt the Man on the Match. What gave you the energy to try so hard, and almost get an assist and goal and can you do it again?
For Sebastien Le Toux:
Why are you no longer wearing the brightly colored shoes that you wore at the beginning of the season? Were they unlucky?
For Sigi or Coach Schmetzer:
Why do some players stay out on the pitch at halftime instead of joining the rest of the team in the locker room?
For Players-
Does the team give you a stipend for cleats? or do you have your own contracts with shoe makers?
For Freddie Ljungberg:
I have heard your last name pronounced a couple of different ways which includes with a silent J ("L"ungberg) or silent L ("J"ungberg). What is the correct way to pronounce your last name?
By the way, it was great to see you back on the pitch last Sunday.

Question for anyone:
If the Seattle Sounders FC win the U.S. Open Cup on September 2, 2009 and enter the CONCAF Champions League then how many total additional games will there be next season ? Is the CONCAF Champions league a round-robin tournament or is it single-elimination or double elimination or what ?
Note to KONG-6-16-TV: As always, feel free to edit for clarity or length. Thank you.
Heads up ! Pardon my typo in prior question. The correct acronym is CONCACAF. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONCACAF_Champions_League
with the new format, it is not clear if U.S. Open Cup finalist is seeded directly or into the playoff stage.
Anyway, hope they win in September 2, 2009 U.S. Open Cup final. We can use the extra experience and publicitly around North America, Central America and etc.
For Kasey Keller.
What are some of the daily exercises do you do?
For Kasey Keller
How long will u play for seattle?
For Chris Eylander
Being out with injury most of this season, how long until you're healthy and back on the pitch?
For Sigi -
With the remaining regular season games, what results do you think we'll need to make the playoffs? Which remaining fixtures do you see as being most important for our playoff chances?
For Sigi,
With the remaining regular season schedule, what results do you predict we'll need to make the playoffs? Which remaining fixture is the most important to our playoff chances?
For Sigi,
why not start Sanna Nyassi? Can he not last the full 90?
For Zakuani:
Who's faster in a footrace, you or Sana Nayassi?
For Adrian Hanaur:
The prize money for the US Open Cup winner was $100,000. What portion of that goes to the organization and what portion, if any, goes to the players?
For Fredy Montero:
Your goal celebration in the DC game was to mime a baseball homerun. Was that a tribute to anyone in particular?
For Sigi,
I feel like the really low salary cap of the Mls makes it so we are a tie dominated league. Not only that but, we are unable to draw more than one big name per team to the league. Do you think that they will dramatically increase the salary cap next season? If not is there anything I can do to lobby for a larger salary cap?
Sigi,
Are you holding Zakuani back from taking shots on goal? He has the speed, skill set and athleticism to take opponents one on one but when he gets close to goal he dishes it off a majority of the time. Is this the role that Zakuani is designed to play or is that just his style of play?
Two (2) questions for A.H., Coach Sigi or Assistant Coach Brian S.:
1) The this point what are the positive (POSITIVE) surprises in the development or performance of the side (team) and / or individual players ?
2) At this point in the MLS season what are the surprises in the table (standings) of MLS ?
Note: As alsways, LONG-6-16-TV can feel free to edit for clarity or length. I pretty much know I'm not that great of writer.
For Sigi:
Would you rather draw a game 0-0 or 3-3 and why?
Two Questions to Fredy and Ozzie;
1. With the regular season coming to an end, and the not so sure playoff placement, many of your fans are starting to feel the 'separation anxiety', what are the post season plans? Do you stay in Seattle.
2. Any memorable experience(s) with the Seattle Fans that stand out?
For Fredy:
I noticed you like to wear the long sleeve jersey a lot, even on hot days, is there a reason why you always wear it? What's your most memorable encounter with your fans and how long are you planning to stay in Seattle?
For Nate Jaqua
Did your dad ever try to get you to play football instead of soccer because he played profesionally for the Washington Redskins?
For anyone who can answer:
How many soccer balls are used in a game and what happens to them after the game?
Coach Sigi
It looks like Montero and Ljungberg are the only players regularly willing to shoot from past 10 yards out. Is this because of coaching tactics or player timidness?

Respectful forward thinking hard question for A.H.:
Given a wide variety of factors, what percentage of the roster for Sounders 2010 season could be different than the Sounders 2009 roster ?
Note: to Kong-6-TV as always, feel free to edit for clarity or length. In this case the phrases "variety of factors" and "could be" allow A.H. to comment on the business of being a general manager if he chooses to do so, rather than a mere point prediction. It is rather like choosing between a rather detailed explanation of the variability of the weather forecast rather than just saying tomorrow's temperature will be 60 degrees. Thanks for a really neat show.
Leo Henton
Leo Henton,
Enough with all the messages. Just ask a simple question.
Sam, Renton
Let's try rewording this one...
For Adrian Hanaur:
The prize money for the US Open Cup winner was $100,000. Do the players receive some of that as a bonus for their success in the tournament?
New ones...
For Tyrone Marshall:
Against New England, you had to play on a field with football lines. Did that make it difficult in judging distances or cause other problems?
For Kasey Keller:
Other than participating in the coin toss, what additional responsibilities does the team captain have?
To Fredy, Ozzie, Jhon, Leo, Taylor, Riley, etc,...
Do the spanish speaking players try to talk to the teammates in english? or do most of the english speaking players speak to Fredy, Ozzie, leo.. in spanish? Has language barrier been an issue in communication on the field sometimes?
To Nate Jaqua:
You came from another MLS team. Do you share tips of what your previous team do on their practices or what type of plan of attack they have, with your current Sounders team's coaches or teammates, to be ahead of the game?
Question:
Do yellow card accumulation and red card exclusions carry over from the last game of the MLS regular season into the MLS playoffs? Or do all eight playoff teams start MLS playoffs with a total and intact side available ?
Leo Henton
For Sigi...
Roger has scored 3 of the biggest clutch goals for the Sounders this year. Why does he not get more playing time? Is there any chance that we will get to see him start in the final home match of the season? The ECS would love to see him in the starting 11 at home!
- For Sigi: Who would you prefer to play in the first round of the playoffs? Who do you most want to avoid?
- For Freddie: It seems like the MLS referees allow a more physical style of play than those in Europe. Do you like this change? Do you think this make soccer more fun to watch, or less?
- For Kasey Keller: You're so awesome. Will you be my BFF?
For Adrian: For the friendly games versus Barca and Chelsea, real grass was brought in (and then donated!). Why do the Sounders usually play on turf at home?
For Taylor Graham: You're a great interviewer, but are you a great interviewee? Will you do a Bizarro Taylor Graham Show where you get interviewed by another Sounder? Personally, I'd vote for Ben Dragovan, but your call!
To Fredy Montero,
I watch most of the games on TV, and many times, it has been commented that you are on top of the list to be fouled by players from the opposing team. What does you mother think about this? Do you call or talk her after each game? Is she used to seeing this roughness? Is the physical level of the game same in Columbia as in the US? How are they different?
Dear Fredy Montero,
I have noticed that you wear two different color shoes during the games. One is white, the other blue. Why is this?
For Adrian Hanauer:
Are the Sounders planning on producing a DVD on the creation of the club and its inagural season?
? for Coach Sigi or assistant coach Brian S.:
Is there any such thing in coaching as shaping the team's performance to "Peak" during the playoffs, or is that just a misconception myth made popular by Sports Illustrated and the newspapers ?
Leo Henton
For Sigi or Adrian:
Do you guys plan to recruit or sign on Asian players, especially with there being such a big Asian community in this area? It seems like there are such few Asian players playing overseas professionally and being Asian myself, it would be great to see more diverse talent on the pitch. Thanks!
To Kasey Keller,
I am a rookie goalkeeper and i am a big fan of you. Do you have any tips that i should know?

To Kasey Keller,
I am a rookie goalkeeper and you are my favorite! Do you have any keeper tips i should know about if i want to be the best i can?
To all Sounders,
The original Sounders in their first season playing at Memorial Stadium would take a victory lap after each home win. The crowd would erupt as the team would pass their section.
Do you think this tradition will be renewed with victories in the upcoming playoffs. An MLS Cup victory lap would be ultimate!

The sales of Sounders jerseys seems to be very successful...why aren't goalkeeping replicas available? My 3 year old keeps begging me for a jersey that makes him look like Kasey Keller! (orange, size 4T, please!)
For Sigi:
Does the team watch tapes of its own games to help improve on mistakes?
Thanks,
~Mike
Freddy Montero,
Quién es más machista Sigi o Alonso?
Quién es más machista, Sigi o Alonso?
Question for Kasey and/or Sigi on time wasting tactics.
We have seen all year teams we were playing start using all the time wasting tactics, e.g. players (especially goalies!) rolling and staying down with every little contact or taking all the time in the world to put the ball back in play, as soon as they got a goal ahead or tied the score on the road.
Yet, I have not seen that from our team and, even though I sometimes wished we were less prompt to put the ball back in play, this is yet another thing that makes me proud to be a Sounders fan.
Is this something you discussed as a team or do you leave it to the individuals on the team?
Thanks!
For Kasey Keller/Freddie Ljungberg -
Is it true that the two of you will be signing autographs at the Bitterlake Home Depot on Thursday at 5pm? I heard it on the radio and want to make sure it's true before I drive all the way down there. Thanks!
And by the way, amazing match on Saturday. Sounders til I die!

For Sigi:
The 2009 US Open Cup Championship victory results in Sounders FC participating in the CONCACAF Champions League next season. What are some of the challenges that 3rd competition will bring, and what will you do differently next year in response to those challenges?
? for A.H.:
Real Salt Lake MLS team has announced a 10% to 18% decrease in ticket prices for 2010 to boost the fan base, while SSFC is increasing prices 5% to 25% for 2010, while keeping a public stadium half-empty. Is it really necessary to keep half of Qwest Field empty for MLS games ?
Adrian Hanauer,
With the demand for tickets so high, what might next season look like as far as more seats opening up?
Question for any Sounders FC player:
When you first started watching soccer, how many games did it take before you were "hooked" into becoming a passionate fan and player?
Similar question for any Sounders FC player:
When you first started watching soccer, how many games did it take before you had a good understanding of the adult game ?
