MARINERS RECALL RHP BRANDON MORROW FROM AAA TACOMA

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik today announced the following roster move:

* RHP Brandon Morrow recalled from AAA Tacoma.

Morrow, 25, was 5-3, 3.60 in 10 starts with the Rainiers after being optioned to AAA on July 11. In his last seven starts, Morrow is 4-1, with a 1.96 ERA (41.1 IP / 9 ER), suffering his only loss in his last start when he was limited to 4.0 innings (1 ER) by a pitch count.

Morrow is 0-4 with 6 saves and a 5.28 ERA (27 ER, 46.0 IP) in 22 appearances (6 starts) with the Mariners this season. After starting the year in the bullpen, he made six starts with Seattle between June 13-July 10. In his big league starts he is 0-1, 4.55 (14 ER, 27.2 IP) with 27 strikeouts, 17 walks and 6 home runs allowed this season.

Morrow made his Major League debut with Seattle in 2007, after appearing in just 8 minor league games in 2006. In his big league career (2007-2009) he is 6-12 with 16 saves in 127 games, 11 starts. As a starter, he is a combined 2-3, 5.17 with 36 walks and 53 strikeouts in 55.2 innings pitched.
