11:12 AM Tue, Sep 15, 2009 |

The Mariners Released their 2010 schedule today, here's a look at some of the key dates: The Seattle Mariners 2010 regular season begins on Monday, April 5, on the road against the division-rival Oakland Athletics, according to the tentative schedule announced today. The Home Opener is scheduled for Monday, April 12, also against the Athletics. Highlights of the 2010 schedule include interleague match-ups with teams from the National League Central Division and weekend visits by the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox in July. The official schedule with road game start times will be announced at a later date. The Mariners open on the road for the second consecutive season. The opening road trip includes four games against Oakland (April 5-8) and three against the Texas Rangers (April 9-11). The nine-game opening homestand, which begins on Monday, April 12, includes three games each against the Athletics (April 12-14), the Detroit Tigers (April 16-18) and the Baltimore Orioles (April 19-21).

The Mariners will be busy at Safeco Field on holidays in 2010, with home games on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 9 vs. Los Angeles Angels), Memorial Day (Monday, May 31 vs. Minnesota Twins), Father's Day (Sunday, June 20 vs. Cincinnati Reds), and the observed Independence Day Holiday (Monday, July 5 vs. Kansas City). Interleague play begins in May with a three-game weekend set at Safeco Field against the San Diego Padres (May 21-23). From June 11-27, it's all interleague action as the N.L. Central Division Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs come to Seattle for a six- game homestand (June 18-24). The Mariners will play the St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers and Padres on the road during that stretch. July features two seven-game homestands that include weekend series against the New York Yankees in their only visit to Safeco Field (July 8-11) and the first of two trips to Seattle for the Boston Red Sox (July 22-25).
August opens with a nine-game homestand against the Rangers (August 3-5), Royals (August 6-8) and Athletics (August 9-11). The month also includes the Mariners longest road trip of the season-12 games with stops in Cleveland (August 13-15), Baltimore (August 16-18), New York (August 20-22) and Boston (August 23-25).
The Mariners finish up with key American League West match-ups in September, the return of the Red Sox (September 13-15) and a final nine-game road trip. A four-game series against the Athletics closes out the season September 30-October 3.
