On a night where Mariner fans got the chance to witness another Ken Griffey Jr homerun, the talk before the game centered around Griffey's future. Manager Don Wakamatsu was asked if he thought Junior would play next year. "He's pretty tight lipped about it, we actually went fishing yesterday, and he never brought it up. That's Junior's decision. That's Jack's decision. All I can speak of is my experience with him this year, and it's been an honor to have a player of that caliber, and get to know him as a person, and respect him all that much more.'' One More year!!!
He is having a blast. The fans are turning out not just here in Seattle but elsewhere to see him. He has brought Ichiro out of his shell...its great for all.
ONE MORE YEAR...and I'll be there the last game with a sign saying so.
As much of a fan I am of Ken Griffey, its time for him to hang it up...lets remember him for all the great things he did, like saving baseball in Seattle. I would hate to see if go out struggling and being booed...
Mr. Griffey please leave the game while your career is admired...lets not be like Brett Farve..
Please Mr. Griffey,Give us one more year, if next is even 1/2 as good as this year, you will still be remembered as one of Seattles biggest, and classiest Sports figures. (And it will give my grand daughter and myself one more chance to cross the mtns. to see you.)
His slugging percentage is barely 400, our DH should have a slugging percentage of at least 500.
It's time to say goodbye and move on with life Mariner fans---We keep him, we are asking for another season without the playoffs.
Lets not be another Brett Farve? The 3 and 0 Brett Farve. If Jr wants to come back, then he should come back. He deserve it, and he should be welcomed by every person who has ever called themselves a Mariners Fan.
It has been fun having griffey back but its time to get younger so we has a chance to win and go to the playoffes. But i would like to see him one moe year if he is a D.H
