SEATTLE, Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 - The Seattle Storm today announced that forward Lauren Jackson is out indefinitely with a stress fracture in her back. Jackson underwent diagnostic tests that revealed a stress fracture in her back. A timetable for her return has yet to be determined. "Lauren has been playing with back pain for a couple of weeks," said Storm Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Brian Agler. "She will rest and work with our team physicians and trainers to rehabilitate her back. We are focused on preparing for the playoffs." In her eighth WNBA season, Jackson played and started in 26 games for the Storm, leading the team with 19.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She posted a season-high 36 points Aug. 18 at Detroit and pulled down a season-high 13 rebounds vs. San Antonio Aug. 1. Jackson grabbed a career-high six steals June 19 vs. Minnesota and averaged 1.73 blocks per game. The Seattle Storm hosts the Atlanta Dream tonight in a 7 p.m. matchup at KeyArena.
