I am writing a story on the benefits of playing ice hockey starting at a young age and featuring youth hockey organizations in the Western Washington area. I am looking for anyone who played hockey as a child (whether they continue to play now or not), to share their experiences.
I will also profile youth hockey organizations in the Western Washington region so families who are thinking of getting their children involved can find information on the various organizations, including when to sign up.

If I were you I would take a trip up to Comcast Community Ice Rink in Everett and ask up there, I know there are a lot of people that play Adult hockey now that years ago they were in a youth league.
Su,
We'd be happy to refer you to any number of our coaches, assistant coaches, referees and hockey parents who played youth hockey. Many of these folks continue to play, coach and referee as adults.

Thank you so much for your suggestions.
I will be in touch!

Su,
If you are looking for hockey history, I recommend you come visit us in Tacoma. Hockey has been here for 20+ years. We have generations of hockey going on. People who have played as children, adults, coached their children and are now there as grandparents. Several of our players have gone on to play professionaly, but most are here playing for fun in what we refer to as the "beer league." Hockey is wonderful and misunderstood sport.
