On the same day the Mariners were at home hosting the Tigers, the Huskies were busy with a spring scrimmage and the Sounders were on the road taking on Chivas USA, it's the boys from Supercross who were the hottest ticket in town. Over 50,000 fans packed into Qwest Field Saturday night for the 2009 Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Not only were those fans treated to a great show, but they also got the chance to see hometown rider Ryan Villopoto from Poulsbo take home the championship. "It's awesome," said Villopoto, who missed the last three races with a virus. "I can't thank my team enough and everybody that put effort into it. It hasn't been the year we wanted but they never gave up. The track was super tricky and there were some slick spots so you really had to ride smart." Congrats to Ryan Villopoto and congrats to you the fans, who made it a night to remember at Qwest Field. |
