Today, during the press conference, Hawks head coach Mike Holmgren talked a little in-depth about cutting Courtney Taylor. He likes him and had a long talk with Taylor. Holmgren thinks he needs just a little more seasoning. Seattle drafted him in the 6th round in 2007.

Holmgren says the team nearly pulled the trigger on the move (cutting Taylor and signing Jordan Kent from the practice squad) last week. But they thought Deion Branch would give them the much needed speed on offense. Well Branch is out indefinitely with a bruised heel. I'm guessing this move is a little more telling of Branch's injury. I'd suspect he'll miss next Sunday's game. Holmgren thinks Kent gives the team speed, enthusiasm, and sometimes he zigs when he should of zagged, but he'll be able to help on special teams.

UPDATE: Taylor clears waivers and resigns with the Seahawks. According to Frank Hughes with the TNT, other teams were interested in Taylor, but he didn't want to sign with another team's practice squad. He felt he was in a good situation with the Seahawks.
