In case you missed Holmgren's Monday press conference, the coach just announced that Matt will not play on Sunday. Seneca may, if the second-stringer can practice this week. If not, then Tampa Bay's defense gets to pin their ears back before Charlie Frye. Holmgren also said Branch should be back for this Sunday's game.

Die-hard Seahawk fan here... through the 80's, 90's and today. Will always root and will NEVER give up. However, with Matt out, with Seneca 'iffy' and with the way Charlie played on Sunday, I am not sure if we can dig ourselves out of this hole, especially with the way AZ is playing. We do have a playoff caliber team... hence the past 5 years. No one to blame inparticular, just plain dumb luck due to massive injuries. Will begin looking forward to next year and will cross my fingers we aren't humiliated on national TV vs. Tampa.
Ok, so here is another chance for Charlie to let loose in the opening part of the game. He played well in college, and Mike saw something in Charlie that is why he came from Cleveland. Give him a change, early in the game. Defense has to play, but we need to keep them off the field longer.
The defense needs to step up big, they need to blitz and fight harder, the secondary needs to gear up concentrate be quicker and them corners please review the Browns tape them corners are short but did a heck of a job (against the Giants), we have excellent corner backs they just need to improve on their technique (eye on the eye of the opponent receivers) and play extra hard (with strong spirit) Overall these defense can do that, they need to work mentally to get focus and get back in business. The offence that OL is S## that needs to be looked at and make real changes, the QB need a few seconds more to release the ball, and for a good running game we have JJ and MM that can run that ball for many yards if the OL does a better job, with TD and LW leading the way pounding opponents here the running game can make a difference, the receivers can make a difference if they do run their route they can catch them balls DB and BE are way better receivers and deep with KR (can make big plays too) with JC the passing option is there BUT the QB (W or F can do the job) needs time, time, time the OL (better technique and attitude and toughness) needs to give him time. Heck all teams have injuries everywhere but the reserve steps up is all in the mind, heck attitude is the key! Go Hawks!!
If the play calling is the same w/ TB as it was last sunday, then the Buc's get a win, no problem. And I mean NO problem. Frye will be a bit of dog biscuit in the middle of a pack of hungry Doberman dogs.. The offensive line getting literally climbed over on every play isn't going to let a third bench QB accomplish much except run for his life or fall down and hang on to the ball. I think thats where he'll get his most starter experience this week..The punting team boys are going to continue to see a lot of "action" as well..
