Add another wrinkle to the slew of college and high school athletes heading to play in Europe. Reports have a team in Greece offering Kobe Bryant $83-million tax-free, a villa in the Mediterranean Sea, a private boat for Kobe, and a full-service staff. The offer was first reported on the Italian basketball site basketcentral.it. You can read more on the offer on Zagsblog.com. The reported deal isn't for this season, so Lakers fans can relax. The team? The Olympiacos. While the offer may create a few "what the?", the team is serious. They recently made ex-NBA star Josh Childress the highest-paid basketball player in the world outside of the NBA, with a three-year $20M contract. |
