Ask Mike Holmgren a question

12:18 PM Sun, Oct 12, 2008 |

It's time for the Ask Mike Holmgren post. You know the drill: If you have a question for coach Holmgren leave it in the comments section below before the end of the Packers game. Then watch The Mike Holmgren Show on KING/5, following NBC's Sunday Night Football and see if the coach answers your question. And please don't forget to leave your first name and the city where you live.

Mike,

If this season ends with the Hawks below .500 and out of the playoffs would you consider returning one more season so that you are could try to "go out on top"?

The defensive team looks so good at home and yet so flat and unemotional when on the road. You stated earlier this year the defensive team feeds off of the crowd excitement at home and of course that is not the case on the road. What can the coaching staff (and players) do to get the defense more "fired up " on the road ?

Mike...How big of an ass chewing in the locker room or practice field does it take for you or your assistants to inspire your players to earn a paycheck?? You ARE doing that...right? We keep hearing about all this "talent" AND injured starters who are back and "ready to play"..Thats not just a rumor.....is it?

Coach, with Justin Forsett being added back to the practice squad, what if any plans do you have for him to make an impact for the team?

Coach...Do you think that you are to conservative sometimes? It seems that at times you aren't going for the win with calls at key times like a long 3rd down you call a lot of draws and short plays. We can't seem to find those long explosive plays anymore. Do you know why?

AFTER AARON RODGERS HIT GREG JENNINGS ON ANOTHER 3RD DOWN CONVERSION AT THE END OF THE 3RD QUARTER, WILSON AND TRUFANT JUST LOOKED AT EACH OTHER. IS THERE CONFUSION IN THE SECONDARY?

When are the casts coming off of Tatupu, Trufant and Kearney? The casts seem to effect their ability to play to their potential against the Packers today with Trufant not being able to use his hands for the bump and run which was the result of a Greg Jennings TD and Kearney missed a sack on Rodgers midway through the 3rd quarter today.

Coach,

Looking forward, how do you motivate a team that has shown signs of quitting, both on offense and on defense.

Coach, First off, you are one of the best coaches in football. As a Seahawk fan, I still believe we have a shot at the division with all teams having losses. At this point in the season with the record showing, how hard are you on the team and what will it take to turn it around.

Josh said:

As fans, we are in full panic mode now. However, the team seems to be in full pout mode. Panic mode may not be productive, but I would rather see them try than walk around knowing they are going to earn a paycheck. What needs to be done to motivate, bench the lot of them and start over?

Mark Mathews said:

My impressions on watching today's game are, the anemic offense, at least four 3-and-outs, and on defense, they did great on 1st and 2nd downs, but on 3rd down, when we should have stopped their momentum and give them a 3&out, we gave them a 1st down time & time again. Green Bay converted on 3rd down, and we didn't. How can we turn this around, and salvage this disappointing start to the season.

Yet another dismal day for the secondary coach. With the injuries and ineffectiveness in that area, are there any plans to bring in any free agents to stop the bleeding in that area like was done with the recievers after they went down?
