Cougars game moved to Friday 5:30pm

3:11 PM Thu, Sep 11, 2008 |

In case you hadn't heard, the Cougars and Baylor game is moving from Saturday morning to Friday at 5:30pm. Blame Hurricane Ike for the change. It's suppose to hit this weekend. So Baylor and the Cougs changed the game time. I guess it's better than playing at 9:30am on Saturday. What Cougar in their right mind would be up so early. The official release is after the jump. Just a heads up, on the release they use central time for game time. By the way, it sounds like they're gonna try to get it on TV...but that's up in the air at this time.

UPDATE: The Coug game will be on television. Here's a little snippet from a press release from WAZZU:

The modified telecast will air live nationally on Fox College Sports and locally on FSN Southwest. Due to a conflict with the Mariners-Angels game at 7pm, FSN Northwest will deliver the game on delay at 11:00p.m.

So unless you subscribe to FSN Southwest or Fox College Sports, you better go hit a sports bar to watch the game. Or you'll have to watch the tape delay at 11pm.

Cougar Football at Baylor Moved Up to Friday

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University has moved its football game against Baylor up to Friday, Sept. 12, and will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. CDT in order to avoid complications caused by the approach of Hurricane Ike to the Texas Coast this weekend.

The game, originally scheduled to be played Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and to be televised nationally on FSN, posed potential travel problems to fans, to the Washington State travel party as well as to FSN's crew, the large majority of whom are from the Greater Houston area.

"We looked at all alternatives to be able to play this game," said Washington State University Director of Athletics Jim Sterk. "Obviously this is not the ideal situation but is the best scenario at this point given the unpredictability of the hurricane and keeping in mind the safety of all involved."

Details on possible television or video webcast of the game are being explored and will be announced as soon as possible. All updates will be posted immediately to wsucougars.com and BaylorBears.com.
