Following the Sonics worst season ever (second-worst in the NBA), the team is gearing up for today's lottery. It's a 5 p.m., on ESPN. Here are how the Sonics 199 ping-pongs may bounce for Seattle: No. 1, 18.8%. No. 2, 17.1%. No. 3, 31.9%. That's about a 39% chance for the Sonics to land No.s 1 or 2.
Most scouts think No.1 or 2 will be either Kansas State's Michael Beasley or Memphis' Derrick Rose. Beasley is a power forward who would make a killer one-two punch to his childhood buddy, Durant. The 6'4" Rose is some franchise' point guard of the future.
Seattle cannot pick lower than No.5. Also of note, Durant will represent the Sonics at the draft.
So what else is up in Sonics land? According to the Seattle Times, Schultz's lawuit is underway, with Judge Marsha Pechman setting some dates. Federal Rules of Civil Procedure will be laid out June 16th and 23rd. Also on the 23rd, attorneys will meet with the judge for status reports and discovery updates, which will help set later court dates. Seattle's case against Bennett and Co. goes from June 16 - June 26.
