The Washington Times reports that the Washington Redskins have offered Hawks free agent WR DJ Hackett a contract. According to Skins head coach Jim Zorn, they want him, but they're not gonna risk it all (meaning overpay DJ) to bring him in. Zorn also says two other teams (the Bucs & Panthers) and the Seahawks are interested in Hackett. I kind of wonder if it would be better for Hackett to ask for a one-year deal from Seattle, build up his stats, then try free agency again in 2009. With Deion Branch currently out rehabbing his knee (surgically repaired ACL), Hackett would see a lot of playing, if he can keep healthy himself. 1 Comments |
I think most Seattle fans would like to see DJ back in a Hawk's uniform this season. However, because of his fondness for Carolina, I don't think he will. Evidently Jim Zorn is trying to sell him on the Redskins, but again, I think he'll sign in Caronlina. I think the Seahawks are doing the right thing by still staying interested, but also keeping in mind the fact that he has had so many issues with being injured. I for one, would love to see all of this potential talent that is going to emerge from the likes of Logan Payne, Ben Obomanu and Courtney Taylor. Jordan Kent is another one that comes to mind, if anything for punt returns and kickoffs. Speed is always and asset when it comes to those two roles and he has plenty of that to burn. GO HAWKS!!!!
