Crumpler in town, Weaver tendered

6:06 PM Thu, Feb 28, 2008 |

Free agent tight end Alge Crumpler is visiting with the Seahawks today and tomorrow. Crumpler spent time talking to the Titans earlier this week. GM Tim Ruskell told the TNT that the Seahawks are tight under the cap, and landing any big FA will take restructuring of existing players' contracts. When asked about Shaun Alexander, Ruskell told the TNT they weren't going to ask Shaun to take a pay cut. Also, the Seahawks tendered FB Leonard Weaver, which leaves the restricted FA the chance to negotiate with other teams. The team will then have the right to match any offer.

Alge Crumpler could be the answer to the Hawks horrible TE position. Marcus Pollard has been a dissappointment for the Hawks especially in their last game against the Packers. Will Heller has done an okay job, but I think Crumpler might be a good pick up.

Leanard Weaver is a great FB that is still learning and has done a pretty good job eversince Mack Strong went down. I think the Hawks should keep him and have Shaun reconstruct his contract and take that pay cut so we can have some cap room to pick up a couple of other free agents like Alan Faneca or Asante Samuel. Hawks need to release a couple players or make them reconstruct their contracts.

Hope the Seahawks get focused on the draft next month and hopefully pick up Mcfadden or someone with the RB caliber.
