Back to work: Hawks in Cheney

6:42 PM Fri, Jul 28, 2006 |

Reporting from Cheney: It's evident this is a more mature Seahawk team and Training Camp hasn't even started. Quarterback Seneca Wallace joked about being the "old man" working out with the rookies today. Wallace turns 26 years old next week. The players walk with a little swagger and speak with more confidence. They're ready to put the Super Bowl loss behind them and make a return this year.

On the injury front, Michael Boulware is still recovering from knee surgery. He ran during the morning practice to get a gauge on his rehab work. Boulware will do some light running for the next couple of days. He's not expected to practice until sometime next week.

Rookie Defensive End Darryl Tapp participated in the morning session. He impressed the coaches during the mini-camp in June, beating All-Pro Walter Jones on several plays. He seems a little undersized in person, but the Hawks like his pass-rush potentional. And his "yes sir", "no sir" style fits right in line with the character players the Hawks want.
