Washington Post bashes Seahawks
I just received an e-mail about a Washington Post article. Columnist Thomas Boswell bashes the Seahawks record. Boswell writes that Seattle faced a patsy schedule including the 49ers and Rams. He goes on to proclaim the Hawks padded their stats with those 4 games. What Boswell forgets to bring up is the Hawks knocked San Fran and St. Louis' starting quarterbacks out of the game. Isn't the Washington Post suppose to have a reputation for being a bastion of reporting? Anyways, check out the article and post your thoughts.

I sure hope his final analysis proves wrong. However, all biases aside, he makes some convincing arguments.
Nevertheless, the past does not determine the future. Our losses came early in the season — a time when our newest players (i.e. Kerney, Grant, Russell) probably hadn't gelled fully with the team. I think everyone is currently playing much better. And although we lost our last game to Atlanta, I believe we would have won had we kept our starters in.

Numbers, numbers, numbers. Is there any Seahawks opponent that can think of anything else than the Seahawks' "weak schedule"? Honestly, there were only about 13 teams in the NFL that had a 500 record or better. their schedule is made before anybody knows how any team does. Baltimore, whom the Seahawks played and demolished, almost in the Superbowl last year but a disaster this year. Nostradamus couldn't have predicted that, some so called "experts" had them in the superbowl this year or at least in the AFC championship. Does anyone remember how much accolades Frank Gore got last year on how is the next best running back of all time and that Alex Smith will lead them to a division title? What about Arizona, after they got the "Edge" and Leinart, they were supposed to be division champs too. How well has that worked out for them?? 4 straight division championships from you know who. It just seems that every other team in the NFL that plays the Seahawks can talk about nothing but their "weak schedule". God forbid they get a little credit for winning games. That is what it all boils down to as well, WINNING GAMES and your final record. Should we put an asterisk next to the Seahawks name after they win the Superbowl because they had a "weak schedule"???

Boswell must be smoking something when he wrote this. But it seems he has a reputation of fudging stats. Taking our best games and the Skin's worst games out doesn't seem like normalization. He seems to be making a desperate effort to prove a point, that doesn't exist.

Speaking as a DC born and bred Redskins fan, I can tell you that the Seattle News Tribune's story about the Washington Redskins was far worse, and personally attacked Sean Taylor as well: http://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/story/245460.html
A little hometown support and trash talk is normal, but the News Tribune representing you all really spoke ill of a deceased individual, and that is really lacking in class.
Can anyone not from Washington, D.C. even feel some admiration and joy for a town reeling from the loss of a truly beloved individual? We turned our entire season around, and came back doing what most thought was impossible. Why does it feel like there is so much disdain and envy towards the Redskins? Even if you want your team to win, it would make us feel a little better knowing that you at least sympathize with us. Even the Dallas Cowboys, our bitter rivals, had players patting Redskins on the backs of their helmets after plays last Sunday. I have even talked to Cowboys fanatics who have tipped their hats to us. I've been to Seattle before, and loved it. I truly hope that those of you who feel class is an important factor will call out the News Tribune and let them know they were wrong for what they said. Good luck on Saturday, but Hail To The Redskins!

I read the tribune article and the guy is right on regarding the Sean Taylor situation. Every football fan (Redskins fan or not), was saddened by his untimely death. But the Skins have just went overboard in saying that Sean is watching over them and is the reason for there late season success. Well Redskin fans, I'll ask you this simple question:" Was Sean not watching over you when your coach called 2 time-outs back to back and cost you the first game after he died?

Chieftess cries like a girl. There was nothing disparaging in that article. I guess Taylor is truly a Seahawks fan since we beat you by 21. There's always next year... crybaby.
