Seahawks to the UK? Crazy.
As if they don't travel enough, the Seahawks is one of the teams the NFL is considering sending to Great Britain (according to an ESPN source). Man, oh man. Like the guys in blue don't have a hard enough time playing 10 a.m. East Coast games. Oh yeah, the Seahawks logged the most regular season frequent flier miles this season. The game may be played in October. I know it's great for the league, but as a NFL fan and season ticket holder I'm not a huge fan of these UK games.
Update: The Buccaneers, Chiefs, and Saints are the other three teams under consideration. Of that list, the Bucs is the only team Seattle has on the schedule next season. On Monday morning, the TNT is reporting that the Seahawks could also potentionally play a game in '08 against Buffalo in Toronto, Canada.

so, what afc teams are being considered then? does this mean that the 'rescheduled' china bowl is definately off for 2009? I doubt the nfl would send the same team overseas twice in two consecutive years. i would much rather a preseason game in china than a regular season game in london. looks like super bowl 50 will be played in sydney!

Its all about the money, not the fans. I really think it sucks for the team that looses a home game.

The theory behind this is to expand the game to new markets, to get interest on a global scale. The fact the NFL would choose the Hawks as representatives of American football is a compliment, as they would want to "put their best foot forward". They may lose a home game, but they gain international recognition.

really, who cares if the hawks have 'international recognition?' i do believe there was a league called 'nfl europe' that folded after many years of trying so why would this work if nfl-e failed? people in europe and elsewhere in the world who want to know about the nfl and it's teams already do know about them.
