Piping in the 12th Man? Get real.
Thanks to Nate for this column from the Washington Times, which includes yet another accusation that Qwest Field pipes in crowd noise. Didn't the NFL send officials to Qwest Field in 2005 over this same matter and decide it was bogus? Really. Like the 12th Man needs more fuel.
Writes Ryan O'Halloran, "Presented with that fact yesterday about the Seahawks' home stadium, the Washington Redskins responded with a collective, "So what?"" The article also quotes Redksins FB Fullback Mike Sellers saying the Seahawks pipe in crowd noise. "That place has to be miked up because the last time we played there, it was ridiculous -- we couldn't hear ourselves talk," Sellers said. "For a stadium that small, it can't be that loud."

Damn, they are finally catching on! Hopefully they are not going to start testing us for performance enhancing drugs, my friends and I all use a performance enhancing drug referred to as "beer" to make us louder.

I love it. It's comments like that that make us get even louder.

HAHAHA! The 12th Man is already getting into their minds, messing with their heads and giving them nightmares. Sellers is waking up at night with cold sweats trying to purge the image of 68,000 monstrous, screaming, fanatical, Hawk Blue clad freaks out of his mind.

Some teams (read "Steelers") get help from the refs and some like the Hawks get help from their fans. I just hope the game is called fair. With the Sean Taylor tragedy I'm sure the NFL would love for the skins to win so they can keep marketing the feel good story. After what happened to the Hawks in the superbowl (i.e. the last game for the bus) it would not surprise me. The 12th man can hopefully help us overcome that if it happens.

My hat is off to the loud fans, but how about some respect for others. I have gone to games in Qwest field and listened to others who have gone to a game and not have Seahawk gear on and one thing that is true of Seahawk fans is that you are the rudest in the nation. I am all for 'your team support', but not at the cost of having NO respect for anyone else. Does an opposing fan deserve to have beer thrown on them, cursed at and the like. Don't they desrve to enjoy the game as anyone else that has paid for their ticket? Don't get me wrong, either fan should be able to take and receive a good verbal jab depending on the score, but the "average Hawk fan in the stands" tends to go way to far.
Can someone explain to me as to this being exceptable? Can you tell me that this is how it happens every were else? And why would you pay that much for a beer and through it at someone?

Whoever said the league is going to favor the skins because of Sean Taylor is really ignorant. Both teams are coming out to play fair and square. Whatever happens, happens.

PTW Silverdale....
I have been to a number of games and have seen a lot of people booted for stuff like that. It's up to people like yourself to inform security about these things. And they make a special text number in the stadium to notify security.. They can to control it. And if I pay that much for a beer I should be able to do anything I please with it, which would be drink it! Not to be rude but if you know how the crowd is, why go? Baseball is a better option or even basketball if you want to drive to Oklahoma.

BTW-
I have traveled to numerous away games. With Chicago being the worst, just about every stadium in the NFL has fans like these.
I'd get over it if I were you.

Yes I know of the number and have called it and told that security needed to see it.
I prefer to drink my beer for that price.
No I do not plan on going to a game in any near future. I was just looking for others input. All we hear is about the 12th man, and I am all for a good fan base, just thought that with alot of people that go to the game for the other team, is this the norm? If it is aren't we missing something about the game? Must be my up bringing from Packer country on what a good sport was. Maybe I am wrong.

Packers and Steeler fans are about the classiest I have ever encountered; to be honest our fairweather fanbase leads to some asshole fans.
The real fans I assure you aren't dickheads.
