Two times in eight months, Seahawks color analyst Warren Moon was involved in driving incidents where alcohol allegedly played a factor. Today's Jim Moore column at the PI has both sides, from Moon's lawyer accusing the DOL of giving an arresting officer the wrong information, to police saying Moon drove erratically, smelled of alcohol, and showed "signs of resistence" when handcuffed. According to the article, in one case Moon had two women in his car. One was so out of it, she threw up during the arrest.
Moore brings up a good point when he suggests the Seahawks face a big issue after stressing a commitment to character, following problems with Koren Robinson and Jerramy Stevens. After leaving the team, both guys went off and were arrested for DUI again. The Seahawks will likely wait for the courts to decide before they act. Either way, it's a bumpy road ahead for the team and the former Husky and NFL Hall of Famer.
Character does matter...The Seahawks and Coach Holmgren have said it and they have put players out of the organization because of these types of lapses in judgement. It is time for Moon to go...regardless of his credentials (although very impressive) because character DOES matter
Moon has had many chances, enforce the law!! Another UW Husky gone bad.
I don't watch football games based on the announcers life outside of his job. If that were true, I'd give up on the hawks due to Steve Raible. I met him multiple times when I was at seafair, and he was very rude to me. They both do a good job, and I don't believe his personal life is relevant. He's had domestic abuse come up long before this, and everyone still embraced him.
I am all for giving a person a second chance after making an erroe in judgement like this. Driving under the influence is a serious offense. Although it's a gross misdemeanor the "what could" happen should scare the you know what out of anyone. If this had only happened once I can forgive him and move on had he made corrections in his life so this doesn't happen again. But to get another within an 8 month period shows signs of a problem. If he's found guilty through the courts the Seahawks should dump him. Our society is one that likes to give a person a second chance after screwing up. But when that second chance is abused and the same action is repeated........ Sorry to see you go Warren.
