Jim Zorn interviewing with Redskins

1:34 PM Wed, Jan 23, 2008 |

There are numerous reports out there saying Seahawks QB coach Jim Zorn is interviewing with Redskins owner Dan Snyder. Apparently, Snyder is interested in Zorn running the 'Skins offense. Jim Fassel appears set to be the new head coach. If Zorn leaves, he would be the 2nd assistant coach to move on to another coaching staff. Wide receivers coach Nolan Cromwell left to join Mike Sherman's staff at Texas A&M. (actually, it's the third. Gary Reynolds left too. He was an offensive assistant/quality control coach. I'm sure he was very important, but he wasn't in charge as a position coach.)

Oh no, say it ain't so! I remember Steve Largent speculating in 2005 that he expected Jim to become an offensive coordinator somewhere, and I was hoping that he might be here long enough to have that opportunity here. I can't blame him for looking to move up, but it will be a huge loss to the Seahawks. Especially to our QBs.

Hope we are smart enough to ask Jim if he is interested in our OC position. If Holmgren is serious and want's to be less conservative in his final year, Jim can make that happen. He and coach Patera had some good wrinkles I think could be revisited.
