Trufant: NFC Player of the Week

The ex-Coug gets his first ever NFC Defensive Player of the Week award, as Marcus Trufant was honored by the NFL for his three INT day against the Cards (and first career return for a TD). Way to go Trufant (I can hear the "Tru-Tru-Tru" chant from the 12th Man already). That makes two weeks in a row that a Hawks was given the award -- last week Tatupu received the honor.

I dunno, but with all these accolades and attention and this streak the Hawks are on, it almost feels like the same energy we had at this point in the 05 season! Super Bowl doesn't seem so impossible anymore.

The Seahawks are a mediocre team in the weakest dvision in the NFL.
They made the playoffs by default, just like they played in the NFC championship game last year-- they don't really win, the other team loses

Seattle can beat any team in NFL if they play well.
The team that wins is the one that executes and makes the plays when they get the chance.
Last Year Chicago won by a field goal. could have gone either way.

Hey Larry, get a clue and learn the game of football before you leave posts like that. The Patriots don't exactly play in a strong division either. In fact, THEY play in the WEAKEST division in football. ALL other divisions have more wins coming from the second place team to the last place team. Lets just see how their division stands right now, shall we? The Bills are 7-6, the Jets 3-10 and the Dolphins are 0-13. Hmmm? That equals less wins of the trailing three teams in that divison as compared to the other teams behind Seattle in the NFC West, as well as THE REST OF THE NFL. It's 12 wins vs. 10 wins, just do the math. You also made the point that the other teams playing Seattle 'loses' the games and that Seattle doesn't really 'win' them. How low is your IQ dude? If you don't win or tie, you lose. Duh!! The Patriots have won a couple of close games that could have been 'won' by the opposing teams this season as well. Just look at the games they played against the Ravens & Eagles for example. Yet, the Patriots had the most points at the end of the game, therefore they 'win' and the other team 'loses'. It's pretty cut and dry, but mabey thats too much for you to comprehend. Am I saying the two teams are alike? No. New England is playing out of this world right now. However, Seattle is a very solid team that is peaking at the right time and is making the right personel changes to fix the problems that they currently have. Your post was ignorant, bias and obviously written by someone who does little to no research on the subject. Also, we didn't play in the NFC Championship last year, we lost to Chicago in the Divisional round in overtime. Finally, I don't think winning a fourth straight division crown and making the playoffs by pounding your nearest threat in the division 42-21, is winning by 'default'. It's called kicking the crap out of your opponent and showing the rest of the NFL just how good your team is. Go Seahawks!!!!

Larry, I willingly admit that the NFC West is one of the weaker divisions in the NFL. But that doesn't take away from who the Seahawks are any more than playing in the AFC East detracts from how good the Patriots are. I am willing to bet that you could have the Seahawks trade divisions with any of the division leaders (example: if Seattle was in the NFC North and Green Bay was in the NFC West) and they would still win the division.

Larry, as the previous posters have pointed out, what you don't know about football and the NFL could fill Qwest Field. Ooh, Snap!!

Larry, I am shocked at just how little you know about the best team in football. The seahawks are the only superbowl team to Ever have a winning season and make it to the play offs the following year. Also, we like it when there are non believers like you. It only makes it better when we take it all. Christmas comes early for Seahawk fans. We can not wait to be in Arizona in Feburary. Superbowl baby!!!

I can see that my last comments got a few responses. I think they were all amusing but the one comment I really liked was the one by Laura -- "The Seahawks are the only Superbowl team to ever have a winning season and make it to the playoffs the following year." Hmmm, lets see, the Bills went to four straight Superbowls, Pittsburgh, San Franciso, Dallas,Denver and Miami all won back-to-back Superbowls. I guess all those teams went back to the Superbowl after having losing seasons. The only time the Seahawks will be in Arizona is when they face the Cardinals in regular season play next year. For all you responders, I applaud your zeal and enthusiam for the team. You are truly dedicated "12th man" supporters. You are very fortunate that the Seahawks went to the NFC because if they were still in the AFC....

larry, With our players & coaching staff the hawks would be competitive in any division. If they are healthy they can beat anybody. even unheathy like last year they were almost superbowl bound.

"You are very fortunate that the Seahawks went to the NFC because if they were still in the AFC..."

By my count, there have been 54 inter-conference games so far this year. If the assumption that the AFC was far superior to the NFC was true, it would be expected that the AFC would dominate in those games. The truth is that the record stands at 27-27. Seems that the conferences are pretty evenly matched this year. Sorry Larry.

One more thing: Before coming over to the NFC, the Seahawks were in the AFC West, a division that this year is 2-11 vs NFC opponents (22-31 overall). The Seahawks would be doing just fine if they were still in the AFC.
