Play or bench the starters?

It's a simple question: What should Mike Holmgren do Sunday, rest the starters or let them play?

Personally, I'd like to see the starters at least play a half, so they can stay fresh and stay sharp before the playoffs start. I understand the game means nothing and the starters could get hurt, but I think the Hawks need to fine tune some things with the running game and Matt Hasselbeck also needs to find some timing with DJ Hackett who is expected to return.

I think we need a running game to make an impact in the playoffs. We need to have all starters play and emphasize on various running play calling and some option plays without being nervous. We have to go into the playoffs with a very strong performance and confidence among players.

All the starters should play so #1 the offense can work on the running game, timing with the receivers etc.... #2) The defense needs to shore up their run stopping abilities. We'll face stronger running teams in the playoffs and that could open us up. So if it were me I'd play the starters into the 3rd quarter. Special teams should be practicing all week and get their entire act together.

Start the starters, this is why they are called "starters"! They need practice for Jan 5/6. Keep the blood pumping. Go Hawks!

we are ready for the playoffs! reward the backups, let them play the 2nd half!

I believe in the simple fact that your getting ready to head into the playoff's rythm is the key to sucess. You loose that when you bench the starters. So play the starters until the rythm is in sync then start the liberal substitution. The team needs to win to maintain rythm and momentum.

Going into the playoffs I think keeping the momentum and keeping the starters tuned going into the playoffs is very important. We are going to be playing much better teams in the playoffs and any extra playing time the starters can get is welcomed. At least play them for a half. Enough said. Now lets kick some "A" and get back to the superbowl and give the 12th man the one thing we have been wanting so long! GO HAWKS!

I say Sit alexander! he has not done anything this year and let some real tallent step up! In the worst case Alexander gets to rest for a week and not hurt anything else before the games that mean a great deal! someone needs to light a fire under his ass and get him running
