Redskins? Bring 'em on.
I'm jumping the gun, but with the Redskins up 27-6 over the Cowboys in the fourth and the Vikings losing to the Broncos, I think it's safe to say the 'Skins are coming to take on the Seahawks in the wildcard game. First off, what do you think of the match-up? The Skins scare you?
Second, in the spirit of smack-talking, I thought the 12th Man should fire the first salvo. Last time we dueled in '06, a Redskins fan site called ExtremeSkins.com started flinging the smack. If you need to "purge" any dislike for the oh-so appropriately PC "Redskins," sling, sling away.
And please do it before we have to hear anything else about how Seattle sucks from ESPN's Tony Kornheiser. In the year the Seahawks went to the Super Bowl, Tony wrote in the WA post: "Is Seattle a football town? Hardly.... Their entire history is about failing."

If you are looking at what I am looking at, YES, the skins scare me. Especially with the momentum they are riding on right now. They just beat Dallas fer mucks sake!!

Can anyone honestly say looking at the last 4 games for the Skins and the Hawks that the Hawks will win next week? C'mon. We're screwed.

Are you serious or delerious???
You have to be kidding if you aren't scared of the Skins the way we have played this year!
They are on fire and we are just a smoldering ember.
Skins 27 Hawks 13
We really don't deserve to win the way we have played this year especially in this division. NFLoosers :o)

Are you serious or delerious?
The Skins scare me a ton...Look at the way they are playing as compared to the Sea Slugs.
The skins 24 Hawks 13
We have played without any fire and look lackluster at best. How bad do you want it? Not too bad if you look at their performance as of late. can you say NFLoosers in the weak NFC

C'mon folks! I have to agree the Hawks have looked terrible at many times this year and are soooo very frutrstaing to watch at times. However, they are so unpredictable I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the NFC Championship Game. Hey they looked this bad last year and should have beat Da Bears despite this. Soooo.... Have faith as you never know.

I agree the Seahawks have been very streaky this year, especially the run game. However the passing game has been very impressive to watch. Good hands have finally came to us! We have looked rough this year, defense is on fire! I will be there next weekend, and my voice will be left there. Go 12th man and GO HAWKS!!

Jake, I love your use of iambic pentameter married with haiku and analogous aphorisms. Very well said.

I know that on paper our defense looks good and with the schedule we had this year they should look good we did not play any real explosive offenses. But look how well they faired against teams with unexperienced QB,s Anderson from the Browns tore us apart, lienart in the first game against Arizona passed all over us, We only beat one team with winning record. We only played 2 teams with a winning record Browns and Steelers which we lost both and we finish 10-6 with an easy schedule. The saints blow us out at home, our starting great DEFENSE gives up 44 pts in its last showing. Yes I'm worried about the Redskins they play with whole different mentallity than the Hawks. And for everyone who says were not fans for our negativity. Facts are Facts. Yes we may have won the west and made the playoffs but it was a perfectly flat easy road and they still managed to trip on. our defense may be good against sub par teams, but we are now playing teams that do not have losing records. If the hawks want to win, this team better get a different mind set. We have the players to win it all. lets hope they step it up. GO HAWKS.

Are you guys serious? What a bunch of pathetic Hawks fans. Why should the Redskins scare us? Is it their 17th ranked pass defense? Please, our passing game will eat them alive. They have good run defense, but who cares, we can't run anyway. Or is it the TE that carries the load on offense? Their 2 top receivers combined for 3 TD's all season and neither one of them has gone over 1,000 yards. Or maybe its the almighty Todd Collins that scares you people. I love this matchup. The Vikings would have been much more difficult.

Hawks are a fraud. You havent beaten anyone this year - just your sorry division. Skins are playing fired up - the D is on a mission, and the O is very solid, and is not making mistakes. Will be a great game, but I think the Skins have this one.

To all the naysayers posting here, I have one thing to say: If you can't have any faith in the Seahawks, then don't watch the game. Find something else to do. Yeah, the 'Skins are tough, but come on now, this game is being played at QWEST FIELD, one of the loudest and most difficult stadiums to play in in the NFL. I think the 'Hawks will take 'em. GO SEAHAWKS!

are you lookeing forde to the playoff nixt week game

Hello Hawk fans. I'm back. I frequented this blog back in 06 the last time the Skins and Hawks met up in the playoffs. I'm a Skins fan living in Western Washington and I was one of the few posters on either side who kept the conversation respectful and honest. And I see the esteemed staff at NWCN is doing their part to stir the pot once again. Why are football fans such putz'?
Anyhoo, the smilarities to 06 are uncanny. Once again, the Hawks are CLEARLY the better team, but the Skins are the hotter team. Back in 06 the Skins won 5 straight to make the playoffs and had one of the best D's in the league. This year neither team is as good as their 06 counter part. The Washington D, although scorching hot lately, is nowhere near as good as they were in 06. But the Offense is much better and has gotten healthy at the right time.
Just like I predicted in 06, in the end the Hawks will out class the Skins and move on. That and the Quest Field advantage. But, the Skins can't be ruled out entirely and many of you are not doing that, which is nice to see.

Otis, it is 'Qwest' Field not 'Quest' Field.
Posted by: ray | December 30, 2007 9:18 PM
My bad, that's pretty embarassing. I knew that though, guess I just typed it too quickly, not paying close attention.
so, is that all you have to say about my post?
Posted by: Otis Wonsley | December 30, 2007 9:23 PM
Actually, I think you are dead on.
Posted by: ray | December 30, 2007 9:29 PM
me too!
Posted by: shock | December 30, 2007 9:40 PM
Allrighty then. Thanks.
BTW - try not to let the burgandy and gold colored glasses wearing Skins fans (kinda like Adam above) get to you. And NWCN's Justin is bringing up that Kornheiser column from last year is just bush league. Kornheiser thinks he is a comedian and all he is trying to do is stir up some kind of contraversy, and Justin has stepped into his trap two years in a row. It's not real smack talk on Tony's part he's just playing on the mentality of football fans and then watching the fireworks. Thanks for getting back to me though.

HAWKS LOST TO ATLANTA. NUF SAID.

I am so glad I am a Seahawks fan that doesn't live in Seattle. Every time I pay attention to what the so called "Seattle Fans" say about our team it makes me sick. I've seen the games and the inconsistent play in the first half of the year just like everybody else. I've been to three games this year two of witch were at Qwest field and had to listen to fans booing are own team, and we won the games. It's luxury to have your team so close by the way. If you are looking for certainty every week go be a Patriots fan. In fact I strongly suggest if you cant hang when the season isn't presented to you in just the way you want find another team to root for that. You guys would make perfect Philadelphia Eagles fans. Oh and Sonny J, Even the experts and odds makers in Vegas are giving the Hawks the advantage against your Skins! Oh yeah here is something we can all agree on....Tony Kornheiser is an idiot.

Ok a couple of stupid typos on my post. I know...... no need to bring it up. Should have checked i before I sent it. Bryant Gumble should be replaced as well.
Posted by: Don B | December 31, 2007 3:43 AM
Don, I don't agree with much of what you have said, but I do agree that Bryant Gumble should go. He calls plays like he's better than you.

I'm a die hard SEAHAWKS fans. I know they've been up and down this year but I still have faith in them. They will win this Sunday against the RedskinS.
GO SEAHAWKS!!!!
Posted by: Khanh | December 31, 2007 7:22 PM
We still love our seahawks. Final score Seahawks 20-skins 6
Posted by: Dave | January 1, 2008 8:48 AM
It'll be a nice game! I"m betting it'll be close...but we'll still get the win (thanks 12th man) in the 4th quarter. Go Seahawks!
Posted by: Michael | January 1, 2008 8:55 AM
Seahawks have more playoff experience and there playing at qwest field its an easy victory.......It might be close though!
Posted by: traskj43 | January 1, 2008 4:04 PM
I love hearing about the "12th" man. If all you can bring to the table is the crowd noise when explaining why the Hawks will win, you might be in trouble. The Hawks have only played a couple of winning teams and lost to both. You are about to get an NFC East Head Slap. Study all of the 2nd string names because you are going to need a bunch of substitutes at halftime. The Hawks will have a lot of injuries. The Redskins will win this and the pain factor will be high. Otis, what kind of Skin's fan are you? Outclassed by the Hawks. Go put on your Jim Zorn jersey and drink cool aid with the rest of the crowd.

Yes Virginia Mike, there is going to be a but whooping on Saturday. The Redskins will be red in the face when they return home to disappointed fans like yourself.
Posted by: Shock | January 2, 2008 5:18 PM
Virginia Mike,
Just a realistic fan, baby. You give football fans (I won't say Redskin fans because every team has them) a bad name. To me being a fan means I root for my team, doesn't mean I need any false bravado or to act like a jerk. It's just a game.
Posted by: Otis Wonsley | January 3, 2008 9:14 AM
All you Hawk haters keep hatin, your all intitled to root for your team thats what it's all about... so good luck!! However my B@tch is to all of you that are pissin on the Hawks now, and when we win Saturday you'll all the sudden jump on a Seahawks NFC Championship band wagon!!8 years with season tickets and I'll be there for EM win or lose!!! We beat the skins in 06' when they were doing just as good as they are now so I'm not worried!!Bleed Blue!!
From the hawks nest!!
