Pro Bowl stats, No. 8
Saw these factoids on the Seahawks v. Ravens game release and thought they might appease readers until this afternoon's press conference (while I'll be there, you can too - via the internet. As always, check Holmgren's Wednesday presser out at seahawks.com).
Since 2005, Matt Hasselbeck is second in the NFL with a 93.0 passer rating in the closing 2:00 of each half. He added to those numbers vs. Cincy (9/23) going 2-for-3 for 31 yards and the game winning touchdown pass to Nate Burleson with 1:00 left. During his time in Seattle, Hasselbeck has thown just six interceptions inside the red zone since the start of 2001. In that same span, he’s passed for 90 touchdowns inside the red zone.
Hasselbeck has also enjoyed success in the comforts of Qwest Field since moving into the new stadium in 2002. Since the final three home games of 2002, Hasselbeck has led the team to a 30-8 record in games he has started and posted a 91.4 passer rating. He’s thrown nearly twice as many touchdowns (69) as interceptions (35) and has only had a passer rating lower than 80 ten times.
This season, Matt Hasselbeck joined Dave Krieg as the second Seattle quarterback to win 50 games in the Seahawks 23-3 win at San Francisco (9/30). It took Hasselbeck 84 games to Krieg’s 80 to accomplish the feat.
