Mora, Kerney headed back to Atlanta
Secondary coach Jim Mora and defensive end Patrick Kerney will revisit their history next Sunday when the Seahawks travel to Atlanta for their final regular season game. With their win over Baltimore, the Seahawks locked up the third playoff spot in the NFC. Coach Holmgren has not decided whether he'll play his starters the entire game in Atlanta or let them rest up for the playoffs. Based on Holmgren's recent history, it's my guess the starters will start the game in hopes to jump on the Falcons and get an early lead, and then rest them in the second half.
Kerney says, he'll do whatever's best for the team. "If that means playing every snap next weekend, [he's] more than happy to do that. If it means, not playing...again, it's whatever [Coach] deems best for the team."
Kerney also had thoughts about heading back to play on his old turf. "It'll be strange staying in a hotel in what has been my hometown (Atlanta) for the past eight years. It'll be a little emotional because I've certainly put my heart and soul into that organization and had the favor returned to me by the fans and the city....it'll certainly be a strange set of emotions."
