Game log, Seahawks v. Panthers
In what may as well be garbage time, Branch catches a TD. Seahawks 10, Panthers 13. Too little, too late. One second left.
After Mo fails to stand up his guy, Hasselbeck is sacked and loses the ball. Panthers recover. A 35 yard run for Williams seals the deal for Carolina, 13-3 (with 1:17 to go). Sure does seem like the Seahawks players were resting after winning the NFC West. Seahawks 3, Panthers 13.
Carolina answers with a nice drive and John Kasay hits another FG to take the lead. Just under three minutes left. Seahawks 3, Panthers 6.
A pass interference call gets the Seahawks into the red zone and Josh Brown hits a FG to tie the game. Seahawks 3, Panthers 3. Matt looked sharp on that drive, and Mo had some nice running. It's a different game with Maurice in the backfield.
John Kasay didn't get his second attempt stolen by the win, as the Panthers take the lead in the fourth quarter with a 53-yard field goal. Seahawks 0, Panthers 3.
11:32 in the third quarter, and the Seahawks defense stops a Carolina fourth and one. Way to go, 'Hawks D. Could end up being the play of the game, given the scoring going on down in Charlotte.
Halftime. First half in a word? Frustrating. Six possessions, six Seahawks punts. At least the new long-snapper, Jeff Robinson, is getting some practice. Best stat? How about the Packers being tied with the Rams before the half, 14-14.
First quarter: John Kasay misses a 36-yard field goal after the wind catches the ball and takes it way left. Like Greg posted earlier, the wind is already making an impression on the game.

Thus far a very lame game. Looks like we can't do anything today. *Surpisingly* Alexander is sluggish and being stopped everytime he tries.

I'm pretty impressed with Moore so far. He's gonna be something next year.

So why do we keep running Shaun? Mike can't stand the whining when he doesn't get reps? Can't really blame it on the line either...He just isn't getting it done. Maybe a seat on the bench would motivate him?

And I keep hearing how we don't get respect around the country because we're up here in the Northwest. Uh...I don't think that's it.

Well, this game went to hell in a handbasket. We can't beat Carolina??? What the hell's up with that? Disappointing loss.

Man does Shauna SUCK!!!! why the hell do we keep giving him the ball? Mike has called this game horribley today, way too conservative, did I mention that Shauna sucks ass.....geeez he really blows. He has one good run, through a hole that my grand ma could have ran through, and he fumbles it. In typical Shauna fashion. Also Matt did a horrible job of keeping a clock in his head, holding on to the ball for way too long. It kill us on the last drive. Our defense played alright, but they had no pressure on the quarterback!!! where was all the blitzing?

We never know what Seahawks team will show up! Consistency?? Shaun should be a good bench warmer

Can you say Bums???
As I said earlier in the year " The fish rots from the head first " What happened to adjustments?
These guy's play like a pack of bums sometimes.
They will go nowhere in the play offs.
Good thing they are in such a weak devision.
No chance against Green bay or Dallas if they make it that far!

I cant believe that we lost to a rookie in his first start! I say that this loss falls squarely on the shoulders of Mike Holmgren, and his crap ass play calling.
Posted by: steve asher | December 16, 2007 12:56 PM
it isnt holmgren or the line.like idiots we gave shaun a 68 million $ contract he doesnt come to play he whines a lot. and when he's on the field i cant tell if he's trying to run or dance.mo deserves the spot at tail back.alexander belongs on the bench or with another team.chris spencer needs to learn how to make a block as well.all i can say is thank god for our defense but they need some help they cant do it alone.

what can be done to strengthen up the line heading into the playoffs as well as into next season?
Posted by: Ryan | December 16, 2007 3:27 PM
Please bench Shaun until he is well. It's obivious that he is not well. Mo Morris is running the ball with relish and is not afraid to punish defenders. Plus, the Seahawks with too many trips to the east coast looked tired and were flat.
