Super Bowl hungover?

How many Hawks fans are still fuming about the Super Bowl loss to the Steelers? Want some gasoline to throw on the fire? Here you go (via the AP) from Steelers players about the game and Mike Holmgren's past anger at the officiating:

From Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger: "Wow," he said, "they're still talking about that, huh?"

"It doesn't bother me," said nose tackle Casey Hampton. "We've got a ring. They can be mad all they want to, we still got the ring. At the end of the day when you look at the record books, it's not going to say nothing about them crying. It says 'Steelers, Super Bowl champs,' and that's all that matters."

From Steelers DE Brett Keisel about Seattle's apparent frustration: "A Super Bowl's hard to get to and lose," he said. "If we'd lost, I'd probably still be holding onto it, too."

From Steelers G Alan Faneca on Holmgren's arguing: "I didn't really care because we won," Faneca said. "Yeah, I remember kind of chuckling. I think two years, maybe he's let go. Maybe."

Just like Barry Bonds*, we all know what happened.

I hope you guys show your Awesome fan support in Pittsburgh and don't let me down. I am going the distance from here in Seattle to watch the Steelers put an end to the constant crying that the seahawk fans will always do. One thing you can count on a seahawk fan saying there is always next year. Every week every year in the NFL there is questionable calls but when the clock stops ticking the one with the higher score is the winner. I am glad to see that Holgrem has admitted defeat and is ready to get on with it. So as I walk in the stadium in Pittsburgh on sunday morning I expect to see as many Seahawk fans as I did 3 years ago Steeler fans in Seattle by the way it was about 40% Steeler fans.
Lifelong Steeler fan.

Ok, not sure how Barry Bonds got into the mix, but as for Jerry--get a life you pathetic loser. Everyone except Steelers fans who watched the game, ALL agree that it was probably the worst officiated game in championship history, let alone Super Bowl history. Both teams played sloppy, but if the game hadn't been fixed for your boy Bettis, Seattle would have been the winner. Hell, we outplayed you guys all around, just look at the stats--minus the crooked score. And as for your 40% Steelers fans in Seattle statement: are you on drugs, you might have had a couple hundred--get a clue and learn to count on more than just your fingers and toes, you fool. If your such a fan of the Steelers, do us all a favor here in the great Pacific Northwest, MOVE TO PITTSBURGH, you idiot!!!! Your kind is not welcome here, so take a hint and get lost!!!! GO SEAHAWKS!!!!

An edit to the statement written by me at 11:36. It should have been written the following way: Are you on drugs? You might have had a couple hundred fans there, but certainly not 40%. Get a clue and learn to count on more than just your fingers and toes, you fool!
Typing blogs at work doesn't always give me ample time to make corrections. Every word though, is still heart felt and to be taken seriously by this moron. There is nothing worse than someone that can't admit that the game was called in order to enable the Steelers to win.
A little honesty would go a long way. No, we won't get the game back or 'a ring', but mabey then we would stop complaining.
GO SEAHAWKS!!!!

Let's just hope that Bill Levy and his myopically cycloptic colleagues from Super Bowl XL are not officiating this one. Hopefully we will get Ed Hochuli and his crew or someone that has actually played the game. Then again, Bill Cowher, Levy's reach-around partner, is no longer the Stealers coach so we should get fair officiating. Regardless, we will see all you Pittsburgh douche wads on the grid-iron this weekend so we all can finally realize that, when given equal opportunity, the Hawks have always been the better team. Goodnight Hookers!

Jerry do you know WHY this game is bring played in Pittsburg? because the Stealers can't handle the 12th Man they are chicken, and everyone knows what Hawks do to chickens.mind u everybody knows the team with homefield advantage stands a better chance of winning that's WHY when we kick ur !!**?? Sunday it'll be all the sweeter. Go Hawks .

There is one key difference between Barry Bonds and the Steelers: Bonds cheated, the Steelers didn't. That superbowl loss hurts me just as much as the next fan, but don't go blaming the steelers; they weren't the ones who did anything wrong. The true blame goes on the officials who screwed it up.

I'd also like to point out that Sunday's game will not point out the "true" winner of the superbowl. This is its own game and will only prove the true winner (provided there's proper officiating) of this one game. Hopefully that true winner will be the Hawks and hopefully that helps lead to them being the true winner of this upcoming superbowl.

Talk about opening Pandora's Box! Sheesh. I can see from some of these posts that this whole subject is still tough to swallow. I'm pretty much over it by now. Life's too short to live in bitterness over it. You can't move forward if you're always looking back at it.

I remember reading some of the most mean-spirited posts (from fans of both teams, I might add) after that game. Just seemed like that game brought out the ugly side in a lot of us, and you could read it in those posts.

Summing it up, this happened almost two years ago. What's done is done. You can't change what has happened. All we can do now is live today. I agree with Mike Holmgren: I think it's time to put Super Bowl XL behind us as Seahawks fans, and just move on. Just be proud of the fact that our team got there in the first place. Win or lose, the Seahawks can at least say that they have played in a Super Bowl.

GO SEAHAWKS!

How do the Seahawks even have an NFL franchise? Perhaps because the second richest man in the world is the owner they are afforded a free pass from moving to Los Angeles. They claim to have the best fan support in the league and even have a flag ceremony before every game. That 12th man flag is about the only thing you'll ever raise in that stadium as long as the Walrus and those crybabies are running that organization. Steelers rule!
