Thanks Justin,
That is what I am talking about; perspective. Shaun has had a couple of down years due to injury (every great back to play the game has had them) and all the boobirds are trying to convince everyone else that he is the worst back the Hawks have ever had.
Do these names sound like they are horrible backs:
Earl Campbell,
Marcus Allen,
Eric Dickerson,
Emmitt Smith,
Walter Payton,
No you say? Well Shaun's name is next to theirs in the NFL record book.

one thing i know Alabamas' football program doesn't turn out any horrible backs but we definately need a couple of x-large guys who can pull & run lateral to set up some open lanes for our backs to use. also Matt needs to work with his WHOLE receving corp to establish routes and timing because u never know when someone may go down (eg DEION, ect) why don't we have any receivers that can get a Corner to bite on a deep route cut short & come back underneath,if this happens a few times the deep pass will eventually open up.

I think the booing shows the lack of knowledgeable fans in this area. It makes the Seattle fans look like we are loud and stupid to the rest of the nation.
Looking at Shawn's running performances shows some issues with him but the vast majority of the problems is the blocking!!
Let's get the blocking schemes fixed and the missed assignments addressed.
And Seattle... C'mon, show Shawn some respect. This guy has earned it!

Thank you Hawker37! Those stats don't get put up by anything less than a great running back, and I refuse to believe that anybody can go from being as great as that to as lousy as some "fans" claim Shaun is. Is he as good as he was in 2005? Probably not. But give him a chance and he will shine.

Hawker37.........This just shows how wishy washy the Hawks fans are! When things are good the 12th man is there.........When times are tough there gone and the start too BOOOO. This is why Seattle doesn't deserve a Superbowl!
GO Cowboys!!!!

Hey! Those are all great stats! What about 2007? Or what about Jim Brown in the 60's? I don't care about 2005! This is the season we are in and need to worry about!

Dale A,
Go ahead and worry your life away. I am still confident in a Seahawks team that is loaded with talent, getting healthy on a bye week and facing the "soft" side of their schedule. You can drive yourself into a cardiac arrest if you are worrying about minutia. The Seahawks will win this division and go to the playoffs, then it is anyones to win.

In '05 shaun was running for a contract, now he's not. Also all those running backs at the top of the page are great backs, hall of famers. Shaun will one day be with them. Unfortunatly, shaun is is is is at the end of his productive years. if you look at how much he has carried the ball in the past, its no wonder why he is breaking down. two years in a row injured on opening day. He is getting old Im sorry to say, like the rest of you Im not happy either. I buy season tickets every year ( for a pretty penny I might add) and would like to see the money put to good use. Next year, Anyone but shaun, please. I dont know about you but Jones soda sucks, and I wish they would have asked the fans they're opinion before making the switch. I'm forced to sneek coke into the game. Fufu berry anyone yuck!

by the way, the fans dont look stupid for booing shaun the potato bug alexander, they look frustrated
mad
confused
stop holding onto the past holmgren. Time to revise shauns contract as in burn it!

I couldn't agree with Hawker37 more. Shaun is getting a sense of himself again and aside from poor blocking and the cast, he ran with more purpose in the last game. He will come back to life soon and I'll be waiting for the boo-birds to start talking as though they always supported him because that is how it works.
The best way to get somebody pumped up is to MOTIVATE them not Boo them to let them know you're pissed off. Real fans stick with the team and encourage with support. I was totally embarrassed by part of the Qwest Crowd @ MNF. People wonder why Seattle gets no respect.
steve, sorry but grow up. This is not a High School game and either you're a true fan or you aren't (I'm guessing the latter, prove me wrong).

Steve Asher,
And you say you are a fan and you like the Hawks. I would hate to see how you talk about a team and player you don't like. You are more negative and cynical then Voltaire. The Hawks and specifically Shaun, they do not need opponents, they have Steve Asher, a supposed Hawk Fan.

I know you are mad because you are in the minority when it comes to shaun. But frankly, I could care less about what you think. we will see how shaun plays the rest of the year. but as of right now he STINKS with a capitol S.
Posted by: steve asher | October 24, 2007 10:26 AM
Steve,
I am not mad, you are the one putting forth putridly, angry rants about Shaun Alexander. I am being positive towards a guy who has contributed greatly towards the Seahawks as and orginization and as a team. He will get rolling, mark my words, then you will be eating crow.
Posted by: Hawker37 | October 24, 2007 1:49 PM
It's kinda hard to run through when EVERYONE knows you're good and is expecting you to get the ball. He's a marked player, maybe plays should change up a bit to throw things off. It seems that opposing teams KNOW we're going to hand the ball to Alexander and they're ready and waiting...

The cast needs to go and he needs better block protection. I think people will change their tone about Shaun as soon as he's getting the support he needs and is able to break through.
Shame on those so-called fans that don't have faith in him right now and shame on (most of) the media for adding to the negativity surrounding him.
