As you've all heard by now, the Seahawks confirmed Shaun Alexander has a cranked bone in his wrist. But he'll play on Sunday. The NFL's has a laundry list of injured backs. Deuce McAllister, Steven Jackson, Ahman Green, Chester Taylor, Brian Westbrook, and Rudi Johnson could miss playing time due to injuries. All were day 1 starters. Some of those names are day-to-day. Except for Deuce. New Orleans just go the news that he's out for the year with a torn ACL. Not a fun injury...trust me. Or even ask Padres outfielder Milton Bradley. Did you see that crazy dude blow out his knee while yelling at an ump. I guess the ump was asking for it. But still, what in the name of kicker Bill Gramatica was Milton thinking about...
Back to the running backs...Hawks coach Mike Holmgren believes Alexander the Great will be all right. But be warned fantasy football owners, even Holmgren knows that the cast can affect his performance. Speaking of fantasy football...Steven Jackson tore his groin and should miss at least a week. His backup is rookie Brian Leonard. You know, the guy who didn't even start at tailback in his last year at Rutgers. Sure they've got Ray Rice there, but still, Leonard wasn't the starting halfback. The Hawks play the Rams October 21st. Who knows if Jackson will be ready by then. Groin injuries tend to be very touchy. You need to rest them to heal them. Here's a little advice, if you can trade Jackson to some sucker, I mean optimist/Rams fan, do it now. Hopefully, you can get some value. Oh by the way, while we're talking about the Rams, apparently, QB Marc Bulger is playing with 2 broken ribs. Add that to their O-line injury problems...And you wonder why they're 0-3?
