Thursday, when the Oakland Raiders come to Qwest Field, is a big day for Weaver. It's the fourth and final preseason game, so the veterans won't play much allowing the backup players and guys fighting to make the team one final opportunity to show they deserve a roster spot. Weaver says he expects to play alot and he'll use the game to "prove [himself] and get better at what [I] need to do." He says, "Anytime the coaches trust you with a play it's definitely to see what you can do and see how you can handle it." He'll definitely be watched closely on Thursday and he knows it...and he knows it's time to get it together and shake this preseason slump. Monday the Hawks trimmed the roster down to 75. Weaver is hoping to hang on when the Hawks cut it 53 on Saturday. |
