It's On: Training camp begins in Kirkland

9:18 PM Sun, Jul 29, 2007 |

At 8:45 am on a rainy Sunday in Kirkland the NWCN Seahawks Training camp officially kicked off. As a Seahawks fan and a football fan, I was getting goose-bumps as I watched the Hawks take the field today for day one of camp.

The hawks were revved up and ready to roll. The guys were rested, they were full of smiles and they were excited to be back on the field. Seahawks Head Coach Mike Holmgren was also excited to be back to work. Holmgren told me if this team stays healthy and the stars play like stars, we should expect big things from the team this season. With veterans leading the way, plenty of depth and plenty of playmakers, Holmgren is very optimistic about a 4th straight NFC West Crown.
No major injuries to report after day one, although we did get a scare early.
Jordan Babineaux, who appeared to injure a knee in the morning practice, did not practice in the afternoon. Babineaux says he's fine, but we should know more on Monday about his condition.
The Hawks will go another two practices Monday, and most likely will stay in shorts. The hawks will go this way until padding up on the third day.
