PorkChop Sidelined...Again

5:59 PM Tue, Jun 12, 2007 |

Floyd "Pork Chop" Womack is becoming more and more familiar with rehab. Last Thursday, Womack had two bilateral arthroscopic knee surgeries in Seattle.
This latest visit under the knife adds to the long list he's compiled over the last 5 years: hand, ankle, toe, elbow, triceps, knee and groin injuries.
I ran into Pork Chop at Seahawks Headquarters on Monday and he told me it was his first day walking. For a guy that's 300-plus pounds...he looked great! Of course, he was wearing his baggy jeans and Prada shades, so he pulled off the fashion bit well!
As for football, he told me he's on track for a full released the second week of training camp in July. Mike Holmgren is leaving the door open on Womack's position (either right guard or right tackle) saying he'll let the guys (Ray Willis, Chris Gray, and Sean Locklear) duke it out until he's ready to name a starter. That bodes well for Womack who's in his 7th season.
He seems to be okay with his situation too...he was all smiles when I was talking to him...upbeat and feeling good!!

As much as I we all love pork chop, it's time to let him go. No one who has sustained as many injuries as that man has, has been able to recover and play an entire season in the NFL.
