From just outside the locker room… The Seahawks equipment guys are loading the trucks, guys coming out of the x-ray room. The tarp is going on the field. Here are a few quick notes from the postgame interview room… Coach. Tough loss, especially when it comes down to making a play or two. Very difficult having a game like that, losing a playoff game and having the season end after all the work of the past 8 month. On the other hand it was a rewarding season in the sense that a lot of players who normally wouldn’t have seen playing time stepped up and did a good job. Pass play near end of regulation was expected to be a shorter one instead of downfield. Matt. Bears did a good job, had two weeks to prepare. Much more of a challenging season, things in a way came easy last year with more consistent core of players on the field. Had to battle through a lot more adversity, so it was more frustrating. On the interception, he felt DB was going to move outside with receiver and was trying to throw into the ground to the inside…bad decision. On play downfield toward end of regulation, he locked in looking right because he had two receivers that way after Bears showed blitz, no blitz and threw long. Feels good about the team for next year. Hopes they will be able to look back and say there were things they learned from this year. Shaun – You don’t second guess yourself after a game like this. Go out battle hard. On the 4th and 1 at end of game, the muffed snap threw timing off, felt 55 was too far inside and he would have been able to rip off a big gain, but timing is so important in those situations. on that 4 and i, mack wasnt even in the game. he wasnt in for most of the thrid and fourth quarters, it was will hellar, the te, playing for mack. matt changed the play and heller lined up incorrecdtly.
the hawks did much better then the nation expected. The national media gave them no hope. I live in tennessee - had to check in with king5.com to find any one willing to pick the hawks. Next season, stay healthy, get a o-line and a secondary.. see you in arizona
Greenie - You're absolutely right, Mack WAS out most of the game. The reference I made was what Shaun said "quiping" about talking Mack into coming back again.
For being an injury plagued team, a nine point undergog, and getting no respect from the chi media, the Hawks played well and made a game of it. Look out next year. They beat the bug and made it to the playoffs. Next year is ours.
Im proud of the Seahawks... We showed everyone that we can hold our own. We didnt hand Chicago the game, we fought for it. It was a good game. Next year I think will be our year!
Those thoughts are exactly what we were talking about outside the locker room after the game. It was a good game, a play or two either way makes it or breaks it. Feeling good about how prepared they were to play today and gave the Bears all they could handle just makes the gut wrench with "what could've been" had one or two things been different. Either way - be proud of this team!

I don't see Grossman leading any team to a superbowl victory. Sorry Bears but, you'll soon feel the pain of a loss next week when you lose to the Saints. Oh, and Merry Christmas.

Hey Liz, I wouldn't be gloating too much if I were you. Just like Seattle had a week to celebrate their win over the Cowboys, so your team will have one week to celebrate their win over the Seahawks today. I predict that the Bears will get OWNED by the Saints.
Personally, I just got what I wanted for xmas. Being married to a Hawks fan isn't easy. When she starts "wah wah wah'ing" I can't turn her off like the computer. LMAO I'll enjoy way more than just 1 week, win or lose. Especially living here in good ol' Washington State. A regular season shellacking of them, and the sweet icing on the cake today. Anything beyond today for me will be wretched excess. In this household, TODAY was my Super Bowl!!!

Typical Chicago Bear fans. You think your team is like god and that all others are nothing. Then how come you needed OT to beat a team that very easily could have sealed the deal if not for shooting themselves in the foot with bad plays they don't normally make? Oh not the mention that the Hawks were not supposed to have any chance against you? I wouldn't be glotting too hard when New Orleans offense runs all over you next weekend.

Im not whinning.. It was a fair game. The Bears won fair and square, no complaint there. It wasnt our year, but next year will be. Its pretty amazing how close the game was yesterday. Just think if all of our team played throughout the whole year together, without injuries, we would have dominated the NFL. AND, we would have found our rhythm. AND we would have beat the Bears yesterday. But we have had injuries and new players, so that just didnt happen, luckily for the Bears.

Hawker, we just sound like you did ALL LAST WEEK. Sue us. It was a good game. Nothing was "given" to anybody, unlike the game that took you to Chicago. Better luck in the upcoming season. You guys will be ok. Too good of a team NOT to be. When you're that good, broken, look out if 1/3 of it gets fixed. Don't discount the playoffs OR another shot at the enchilada. If WE had a QB, they'd have probably done like the 85 team, make a video with 4 or 5 reg. season games left and "goose-egg" both opponents in the playoffs like they did the Rams & Giants. Well, we are 5 time WORLD Champs do I have to say more. Don't forget, it took luck both times to beat us the margin in both of those games were 3 points or less decided within the last minute of the game.
But, we are a team with way more potential and much more youth than the the Hawks. We were the wild card holder and nearly beat you all a divsion holder. What does that say.

Also, they cowboys have existed 16 years more than the Hawks. Shouldn't there be more than five rings? The cowboys have as much potential as Boise State has being declared the national champs...it'll never happen.

It is not Chokeasaurus Rex that you need to worry about this week, the ball will not be in his hands long enough for him to cost them the game. You need to worry about whether Urlacher has an adequate amount of performance enhancing drugs to be able to stop the Saints offense.
