Say what you will, but the Seahawks had their chances. While it would've been nice to know why Mack wasn't in there at the end, Shaun ran the ball when he had to. Here's to thanking Ruskell for patching the team together. Here's to the players for leaving it all on the field. Pretty amazing the Seahawks did as well as they did with so many injuries. A toast to this year, and a toast to next year. GO HAWKS. 50 Comments |
LOSERS!!!!!!!
Indeed, they had their chances, but what team doesn't blow a few every game? The Seahawks played a hard fought game and showed a lot of grit and heart getting to this level with the injuries this year.
Great game Seahawks! Congrats to the Bears!
We need to FIRE Matt Hasselback!!! He didn't do a DAMN thing in this game... and oh, by the way, this SEASON!!!!!! We NEED a quarterback!!!!
I'd also like to know why Mack wasn't in there, but I think having Heller as the fullback gave us a better checkdown receiver and he did pretty decent blocking. We fought hard, but third down conversions hurt us. Congrats to the Bears on moving on, congrats to the Seahawks on a good, not great but good season.
The #8 seed going into the #1 seed on their home turf... going into overtime....
NOTHING but pride for the Seahawks. We broke the curse of the not winning the Super Bowl and getting to the playoffs. Our guys should be proud as well as the fans of Seattle.
Hey from a bears fan, Seahawks played a great game and how many teams go to the superbowl year before and try to win division or wildcard? Not many and everyone should see it's not Seahawks fault they didn't produced. With all of the injuries they had all year I say the Seahawks had a great year and they probably be back in playoffs next year.
I agree with Troy. Chicago thought they had an easy win, no one there thought we had a chance. This team gets no respect and people are already saying "your luck ran out" and "see, you were overrated" and I just aint hearing it. We played a great game and almost came away with a win. Overtime. We deserved to be there, and after all the injuries and bad luck it's pretty darn impressive. Hasselbeck did just fine. Quit whining, it doesn't make us look good from anyone's perspective. Go Hawks! Can't wait 'til next year.
Great game, someone had to win that one. Isn't this better than moving on and laying an "egg" even closer to the Big Prize? Sit back, have a Starbucks, and watch my Bears lay one, next week. Good luck next season. Don't lynch Chumley just yet. He's really a great, great coach. Kevin in Kettke Falls. GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, Coach! I believe that Matt is not a superbowl material. Our defense did a great job with turn over and What did matt do? He throw the game by thrwoing an interception. If our organization is seriously wanting the championship ring. We have to look for option. A championship quarterback must be creative and make play when the original play call is shut down. Matt has not prove that he can accomplish such performance. I think that coach Holmgren should grounded Matt immediately after that interception and send Wallace in the game.
You can't put all the blame on Matt. Yeah he should have ran it, but he didn't. The defense played a great game, but still gave up big plays, how about the 3rd and 8 in OT. Gave up the big play. It was great game just like it was against San Diego, they are not playing the Raiders, one mistake can cost you the game. No 2nd Chances in the playoffs.
Oh, what brandon said up top... nothing farther from the truth. I think he's just trying to describe himself in as few words as possible.
I think what bothers me the most about the Hawks is their inconsistancy. They never seem to be the same team one week to the next. This week was good, next season ? It's extremely frustrating because if they played crappy all the time you could identify what needs fixing. I don't know if Matt peaked last year but I don't think he exhibits the confidence it takes to play at the level needed to win a SB. Most good QBS have a lot of confidence and it shows on the field. Also play calling has become predictable eg Morris comes in to replace Alexander and it signals a run what about a pass occasionaly. oh! and by the way who forgot the greased ball before leaving Seattle for Chicago? Just kidding!!
Hafa Adai from Guam, Being a lifelong Seahawk fan I still have tons of pride for this team. Someone had to lose. I thought da Hawks played a great game and yea to those monday moring quarterbacks so what if there were missed plays thats just part of da game. Afterall nobodys perfect right. To coach Holmgren thanks for a great season and I hope your gonna be our coach for sometime to come. Go Hawks and we'll get ours next year..........
Ok, I have to do this just once.... WHAT THE F DID I TELL YOU??? Better luck next season.
And I know Chicago's chances are next to none now, probably, but right now I just don't care. Don't care about bad calls, bad turf, bad quarterbacks... All I care is THE BEARS got the "W", and Seattle got the "L".
HEY, BETTIN' ON THE BEARS, YOU GUYS WON A TIGHT GAME THAT WAS ANYONE'S, SO CONGRATS, HAVE A LIL' GRACE, AND DON'T BE A BUTTWIPE. YOU KNOW IT COULD'VE BEEN EITHER WAY, AND YOUR QB STINKS ONE WEEK, AND DOES FAIR THE NEXT. GUESS WHICH HE'S DUE FOR NEXT WEEK? WE GOT TO CELEBRATE THE DALLAS WIN WE GOT AWAY WITH FOR ONE WEEK. YOU GUYS GET THIS WEEK TO BOAST, AND NEXT WEEK THE SAINTS ARE GONNA COME UP THERE AND SHOVE SOME GUMBO UP YOUR NOSES!
Hey Hanker...
Unlucky?? Complaining??? What game were you watching? And how old are you?? Like 5 or something? you sound like a kid on a grade school playground who doesn't have anything better to do than try and pick a fight cuz he doesn't have any friends..
Geesh! go back to Dallas or where ever you are from and get off our blog!
Go Hawks!
I am glad the Bears won, now they have a chance to win the BIG one for US chicago fans.... GO BEARS!!!!!
Er...um...hey, Billy...the HeeHawks were the #4 seed. They won their division. Division winners can't be seeded lower than #4. You see, there are FOUR divisions, and TWO wild cards, which means only SIX teams in each Conference make the playoffs. No 8th seed. And, um.. the Super Bowl curse you speak of is that of teams follow up the Super Bowl season with a losing record. So both the HeeHawks and the Steelers broke that curse. And the mythical curse is only 5 years old. First year following the NFL, is it?
So, it's not beyond expectations for one division winner to beat another. But, given that the HeeHawks won the NFC West by default, it was a tall order.
Hasselbeck needs to stop believing he is the second coming of Brett Favre.
And John, yes, the HeeHawks luck ran out. How soon we forget last week.
Bobby, you talk out both ends. First you say "congratulations", and "Have a little grace", then you age regress back to like a 10 year old. I know, it's frustrating. Losing isn't an easy thing to swallow. Especially since you talked out your other end all week. Now it's time for you to do what Hawks fans told Yanker to do when the Cowgirls lost. Hawks are done. All your whining and predictions won't change what happened any more than all the b/s you spewed all week helped Seattle today. It's now an "A" plays "B" scenario in the NFC... "C" your way out of it. Just making yourself look stupid.
Dmad,
how do you figure that we won the west by default???
They didn't have to have anyone beat another team or have another team lose to win the west...
They didn't get into the playoffs by wildcard either
I think they're referring to frisco losing and speeding up what Seattle had covered, anyway. That wasn't default. Just speeded up the inevitable. Guess the 9ers are good for something, after all.
Wow Hanker! You have such a HUGE vocabulary and such a wonderful grasp on the English language.
I really thought that Dallas fans had more class than that!
or maybe it is just you that has none..wouldn't want to lump you in with the other class fans
Uh, well, bettinondabearsss yes they did have to depend on another team to lose....San Fran and they had to beat TB. My point was, the NFC West is filled with such LOUSY (including the HeeHawks)teams you have to try really hard to lose it. And the HeeHawks almost did.
Hey bettinondabears,
If you want to talk about week conferences you should look at the NFC North. Combined they are only one win better than the NFC west and the Bears went 13 and 3. Looks like the Bears have the same gift as the Seahawks had last year. The only difference will be that the Hawks actually went to the Super Bowl. Go Saints.
This blog is about a hard-fought NFC game between Chicago and Seattle. Hawk fans, lets be bigger than name-calling and insults...especially when it's completely irrelevant to this game; we're better than that.
Seahawks deserved to be in this game. ALL the "experts" doubted they could even get the ball to the red-zone. Just because they didn't win it shouldn't void them of all credit for this season. Seahawks had a rough, injury-plagued season. This game, the loss was due to a number of things, including: the weak secondary, 0 for 7 on 3rd & less than 3 (what is that about?); and Hasselbeck's lackluster performance. In the end, no they didn't get to the Superbowl, but they did well with what they had. They'll probably never get the respect they deserve by the rest of the league(I had to laugh when I read the comment that the Seahawks are "overrated"...what? Probably made by a T.O. fan), but I will always hand it to them. At least our season was extended by 2 weeks...longer than most expected.
Thanks, Seahawks, for a great season; here's to an even better one next year! GO HAWKS!!!
Oh, and by the way, LIZ, check your facts before you ridicule Billy about the "curse". The "curse" is that the losing Superbowl team does not make the playoffs the following year. Seahawks made the playoffs this year...first time the losing Superbowl team has done so for the last 5 seasons. Therefore, Hawks broke the curse. Check yourself before you check someone else. We all know the "curse" should be alive still, anyway: Steeler's didn't make the playoffs...enough said.
Hey hawker37, Your right the Seahawks did go to the Super Bowl last year. The only difference is the last time the Bears went to a Super Bowl they won!!
You losers stay and haggle over which of you suck the most. Through it all, just remember one thing. You're both LOSERS, and other than the "excuses" and "conspiracies" you can manufacture, your teams are done and merely a footnote. Everything you're doing here won't change what happened, or what's GOING to happen. Just like posting all of your ridiculous predictions last week. LMFAOOOOO See ya. GO BEARS!!!
I see that there are a lot of people that agree w/me about Matt. He just has not stepped up as a
leader, and I beleive that is a QB's job. That and some very questionable play calling on 3rd down in the past couple of weeks by Holmgren leads me to wonder more about the over all leadership of this team. They have some great workhorses that put out every game but I see a real lack of palying as team and a complete lack of on the field leadership. I hope someone takes
some initiative or U will stay LOSERS !!!!
Yes, way to go, and congratulations...... losers.
Boys, I guess you don't think about any women reading this blog. But you really should. Please clean up your vulgar language and stick with the facts. Here it is: The Seahawks won their division. They beat a wild card team. They played the #1 seed in the NFC and made them win in overtime to move on to the conference championship. All of this with the most players injured, in some cases more than once, during the season. They have nothing to apologize for. And we should stop criticizing them and thank the TEAM for a wild but great ride this year.
Well, "J", no, actually the curse, and it's only a 5 year old curse, is that teams making the Super Bowl end up with losing records the next year. Yes, losing records never qualify you for the playoffs, but if you look it up, all those teams had losing records. So, technically BOTH the HeeHawks and the Steelers broke the curse.
I love how all the HeeHawk fans are saying "great season, wait 'til next year".... Ummmm... isn't that what you were all saying after LOSING the Super Bowl last year? I thought this year was going to be the year of redemption? Are do you get used to saying "wait 'til next year"? Kind of like the Chicago Cubs.
Hey Seahawks,
As I read all these comments about good job and all this other excuses for lack of success, I got one thing to say:
Show me a good LOSER and I'll still show you a LOSER! LMAO
At least we still have confidence in Romo. He did not even start a whole season yet. Hasselback has been in the league how long and started how many seasons! My point exactly.....
Take care,
The Cowboys
The Cowboys,
DMad,
I guess we will just wait and see how bad your team sucks next year. The HAWKS will be world champions next season. And you can stop with all your passive aggressive tripe, we all know you have mental problems.
GO HAWKS.
P.S. What in the hell is a HeeHawk. I am sure you and your kindergarten buddies can come up with a better put down than that considering my 5 year old niece can come up with better ones than that.
P.S.S. Don't let your mom know you are playing on the computer or she will revoke your video game priviledges. We all know what happened last time you and Lester were chatting over the web.
DMad,
If you want to talk about lack of success look no further than the Dallas Cowgirls. Your team sucks now and it will for a very long time.
Jason,
Why are you still posting? If the Hawks suck so bad and the Cowboys are so great than why did we win and the Cowboys lose. If your estimation is correct the Cowboys shouldn't have even needed to rely on a field goal to win the game. Would it not have been a blow out if your team was really as good as you say? The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem. Once you do that you will have a better life. Repeat after me...The Cowboys are overated, the team is full of a bunch of moronic ego-centrists and the HAWKS are the greatest.
Hey, see you next season when we kick your ass again and you cry on our blog.
Hey Hawker37,
Remember last week I told you would need a Hankie?
Well, well, well, Here we are. I have your 12th man Hankie for you to wipe up all those tears.
You (and all the other Sea Girls) got served!
Now go on dreaming about next year AGAIN? The team that will NEVER know the feeling of celebrating a Super Bowl win. LMAO
:(
Jason,
Like I said in another post, the name Big Play Babs still makes you crap your pants so I will graciously give you back the hanky so you can clean yourself. Also don't forget that your Cowboys got served at the Q not too long ago.
We will see you back here next season so you can piss and moan about how the Cowboys should have beat the Seahawks (because the Seahawks suck so bad right?) but couldn't. I will look forward to watching the Romo bobble snap on my DVR all summer long. Then, come next season I will watch you choke on the big plate of crow you are serving yourself up.
Our apologies for some of the rude flame wars in comments. We've been deleting them along the way, and we've banned a couple repeat violators. It's been a tough season for a lot of people, and it's unfortunate some have decided to break our comment rules.
Hey, I was all but invited back. I can't count how many times I was told between the 7th and the 14th... "Come back here after the game Sunday and see how cocky you are... we DARE you".
Oh when the Saints, go marching in, Oh when the Saints go marching into the Super Bowl right of the top of the Bears...
Sing-a-long bettinondadumbasses it will make you feel better.
Just like last week, Hawker. Easy part's done, talkin' about it. ;) Guess we'll have to see. Glad you're still full of great predictions. They're as useful as what the rest of you is full of.
Oh when the Saints, go marching in, Oh when the Saints go marching into the Super Bowl right of the top of the Bears...
Ohhhh I want to be a-round Haw-kerrrr to hear that head come ouuuut!!!!!!!!!
All that void and vacuum... should make a nice POP.
You know you love me being here. You know. Means I'm not there.
NEWS FLASH: "Cinderella Get's Teeth Kicked In" Details on your local affiliates/ESPN(you know... where the "experts" make their predictions), NFL.com, etc... Been fun... see yas the 4th ;)
