With 49-yard field goal in OT. So close. A real heartbreaker.

Oooops...did the Seahawks luck run out? Yup, I think it did. If only the Bears picked up Romo we would've won.

Utterly devasted. We played an amazing game...

Aaron said:

Luck? It wasn't luck. We played a tough game and brought it. In the end it just wasn't enough. Great try Seahawks - close, tense game. Be watching you again next season.

bubba said:

0-8 on third and short coach, take a look in the mirror you and your quarterback cost us the game. we need a huge overhaul in our coaching staff starting at the top.

Nick said:

Why didn't Holmgren freeze the kicker? It's a 50 yard filed, try at least to mess with his head!

Jason Neil said:

Seahawks played great, unfortunately with 30 seconds left to go in the game I don't think you CAN stand flat footed at midfield, RUN!!!!!

Dave said:

Is Holgrem calling the plays? If he did he was awful. The offensive coordinator was terrible. They would have been better off letting the guys from Madden football call the plays.

overrated said:

That's what I'm talkin' about! The Hawks luck just ran out. And on a field goal... Just how the Hawks won 4 games this season. You knew it had to run out sometime...

dan said:

David should spend less time watching football, and more time on his grammer.Hasselbeck should spend less time on his blogs, and more on his fundamental skills.Holmgren........he has to go!!! He has been outcoached at every major playoff game.

bubba said:

stupid ignorant coaching, cant believe his decisions cost us another close one. holmgren thinks he is so smart. somethings got to be done or it will be the same let down year after year.

Bears of Overrated said:

I'll be surprised if they get to the superbowl. Even if they are at home, they still suck, and are the most overrated team in the NFL. I account their victory on luck, and the unluck of the Seahawks.

How can you say that the Seahawks luck ran out when they have been so unlucky the entire season Charles person with name overrated(missing Bears)? EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THE STARTING OFFENSE MISSED AT LEAST ONE GAME THIS SEASON. Not to mention all of the injuries on the defense. With our good cornerbacks and such in Bears lose as they always have.

Remember puny Bears, that your luck has run out, and that you will lose to the Saints. Bear Blood will run on the fields as it did today.

Next year, Bears will suck as they do now, and end the Season with one victory against the Panthers, and equally crappy team.

Troy said:

The #8 seed going into the #1 seed on their home turf... going into overtime....

NOTHING but pride for the Seahawks. We broke the curse of the not winning the Super Bowl and getting to the playoffs. Our guys should be proud as well as the fans of Seattle.

Spencer said:

You're right Troy. Although, the way they played, the Bears didn't look at all like a # 1 seed.

Pride.

The better team doesn't always win.

bettinondabearsss said:

Seahawks played a great game. Frankly, I'm still in shock they DIDN'T win. Seattle has nothing but the loss to hang their heads about. Your guys "brought it", and just fell short. Awesome "D". And stop making fun of Romo. I'd still trade Rex for him without a second thought.

bubba said:

BS!!!!!!!!! we are way past the years of being satisfied for just making the playoffs. anything less than going to the super bowl will be a let down and will continue to be that way until we get a coach to make a game plan that exploits the other teams. we never exploit, but we always seem to get exploited. wee definately need better play calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

brian said:

Seahawks did not lose, Hasselbeck lost it for the Seahawks, He throws a really bad pass that should not have been thrown at all to a wide open Chicago player right after we just intercepted, He bobbles a 4th and 1 snap. He throws another bone head pass to no one down the side line on the final drive in Regulation, He then takes a sack when all he had to do was run forward for a couple of yards or ground the ball, That is very basic football that any quarterback(even a rookie) should know and do in that situation instead he takes us totally out of the drive and does not even give us a chance to let
Josh Brown kick a potential game winning field goal in regulation. there should not have even been an overtime we had it won in regulation. I am sick and tired of hearing the excuses from him and Holmgren that sometimes he tries to do too much, no actually he does not do enough and if you are paying him the millions that he makes after this many years on the team that excuse is not an excuse anymore it is that he is not that good and not worth what he is being paid. We need to find another Quarterback now.

overrated said:

Just be glad the Hawks made the playoffs because they used their one shot at it last year. It's all downhill from here...

overrated said:

Hey Brian, the game last week against the Cowboys shouldn't have been won by the Seahawks either. Players screw up. Romo screwed up last week. Hasselback screwed up this week (but not as bad as Romo).

B said:

Hasselbeck took us to the Superbowl last year and he took us pretty damn far this year, too. The Seattle Seahawks may not have gone as far this year as you would have liked but they are a good team, clearly one of the best, and you're fools if you think we need to start cutting our major starters. We lost a game. Get over it. You're no experts and need to pipe down about the future direction and coaching of this team. Let it be.

bettinondabearsss said:

I know it's rough to take, but whining changes nothing. Look ahead. Game's over. Better luck in the coming season. Like I saw many times in here last week from Seahawks fans to Hanker... Seattle's going home, Chicago moves on. Get over it. DON'T BE A HANKER!!! P.S. I'd STILL trade Rex for Romo, in a heartbeat.

James said:

I am tired of hawks fans being satisfied with getting into the playoffs and not DEMANDING a superbowl VICTORY!!! We've paid TOO DAMN MUCH of our HARD EARNED tax dollars for the bloody stadium to have NO APPRECIATION WHATSOEVER from our football organization to not even spend the money needed on a QB who can get the job done. Matt Hasselbeck was DONE from the get-go! He never should have been put in as a starter!!!
Its not Holmgren with the problem!!! ITS THAT WE HAVE A SUCKY QB WHO CAN'T THINK ON HIS FEET WHEN THE PLAY GETS SHUT DOWN, BUT HIS OFFENSIVE LINE GIVES HIM A COUPLE EXTRA SECONDS TO MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN AND HE STILL GETS SACKED, THROWS AN INTERCEPTION, THROWS THE BALL AWAY, OR JUST SIMPLY GIVES UP AN OPPORTUNITY TO RUN THE BALL DOWNFIELD FOR A FIRST DOWN!!!! IF THAT MORON WOULD HAVE RUN AND NOT HESITATED IN THE 4TH, HE WOULD'VE GOTTEN A FIRST DOWN AND NOT PUT US IN A 4-1 SITUATION!!!!!! HE'S AN IDIOT AND NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!!!!
THE WHOLE ORGANIZATION NEEDS A SHAKE-UP TOO!!!!

'Hawk Nation said:

You know, we can whine and complain about the game today, but I am going to make a statement that might shock the snot out of some people, and piss some off, whatever, I don't care; I will throw it out there anyway: The Seattle Seahawks can look themselves in the mirror and say, "You know what, we played one hell of a game today." Sure, early on, it didn't look too good, but we all saw the defense settle down and really get after Grossman, and they were making a strong case for shutting the run down on the Bears.

I know Matt Hasselbeck will be taking a lot of heat for some of the plays he made today, but in the end, he and the offense were doing their damnedest to keep Seattle in the game.

Overall, it was a good game. There are no complaints from my end about officiating costing Seattle the game, because it didn't. The Bears just happened to win the game.

In sum, I am proud of the Seahawks getting as far into the playoffs as they did, with all the adversity and injuries and all the rest they had to deal with.

I am looking forward to next season...here's hoping that the Seahawks get back to the playoffs for another run at the Super Bowl!

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Spencer: You are right, the better team does not always win which was the case when you beat Dallas.

FooDaddy said:

'Hawk Nation nailed it exactly. Well put.

No one is really satisfied with the result today, but we can be proud of the way the team played the game and represented our city. I, for one, look forward to the possibility of greater things to come next year - these guys showed that they have it in them today.

Really only been one "LOSER" team in the NFC Playoffs that i've seen. The team formerly known as "America's". I saw more Seahawks grit and guts out there today than I can recall. Good show.

bettinondabearsss said:

I heard somewhere that Social Security was adding "Being a Cowboys fan" to the list of ailments you can possibly receive SSI or SSD for.

hawkfan86 said:

Hanker if you don't have anything Coherent to say, (you sound delusional) GET OFF OUR BLOG!! Unless you have something intelligent to add to the strings, all you do is make yourself sound stupid..
AS for the Hawk fans???They were out meeting the team's plane as it landed at Boeing field to welcome them home...what did you do for your team??

Neil said:

Give me a break, do you people really think the hawks should start all over with coaching and a new QB. If we did that we would probably not see another playoff game for a while let alone another superbowl. We need to keep this core together so we can at least have a chance in the next couple of years. and for the guy who want to replace hasslebeck for senaca your an idiot. I think that game was one of the best games we have played all year and if it wasnt for all the injured players we would have started to play like that much earlier in the regular season. The Seahawks played good the bears just played a little better.

Hawker37 said:

To all you fair-weather Hawks fans out there pissing and moaning about Hasselbeck and Coach Holmgren need to shut their pie holes. None of you could even coach a pee-wee football team to a winning record, and I am almost certain you could even complete one pass under pressure. Holmgren is a great coach, just check all of his stats. He is only one of 5 coaches to have won 70 plus games with 2 different teams and in a few years he will be in the hall of fame. And to put all of the blame on Hasselbeck is just ignorant. I do not think his receivers were trying that hard to get open in the last 2 minutes of the game. All of the pieces are there for us to go and win in the Super Bowl next year. We just have to head into the off season, put in a little work and we will be fine.

bettinondabearsss said:

I see the "LOSING" battle rages on... 2mff. Maybe this site can set up like a "musical chairs" or "jello wrestling" event so you can settle this. If that's above skill level, perhaps a game of Candyland. If that's still too technical, drink your juice-box, go grab your "nappy-mat" & relax.

'Hawk Nation said:

Where are the moderators of this blog when you need them? This is the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS blog, not some smut blog. To all those posting their vulgar comments: do us all a favor, and GET OFF THE BLOG, because, quite frankly, most folks DON'T want to read your GARBAGE!!!!

That is all.

Hawker37 said:

I agree with you Hawk Nation! Cory needs to moderate some of these posts and stop people from posting their crap.

To all of you shallow, gutter-minded troglodytes that keeping posting their homoerotic smut crap on this blog need to stop. Hanker,RHomo and the rest of you foul morons need to cut the crap and post their pornography else where. This is a civic blog dedicated to the Seahawks. If you are not on here to talk football or the Hawks then you need to leave. You snotty nosed, pre-pubescent retards need to learn to respect other people and not post such vile crap.

Cory, Please do something to stop this!

bettinondabearsss said:

Oh... that was nice.

Hawker37 said:

bettinonthedumbasses,

Why are you still here? Shouldn't you be on a Saints blog. It does make sense though that you are still talking crap here on our blog considering you are too much of a coward to post on a Saints blog because you know your team is going to lose horribly. The Hawks put up 24 points and over 300 yards on your Bears defense and we were the 15th ranked offense in the league. I can't wait to see what the number 1 ranked offense is going to do to them.

Jason said:

AWWW Hawker37 can't take the heat.

He sure was dishing a lot of it last week.

But, don't worry that is normal after EATING YOUR WORDS.

I told him the hawks would not make it. Now listen to him..........CORY PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. wa wa wa wa wa

Hawker37 is acting like LT after the Game. LMAO

Hawker37 said:

Jason,

Who are you to talk? You are still on our blog fruitlessly trying to convince us that the Cowboys are great. You are crying about how the Cowboys should have won so you need to shut your mouth. Since your short term memory is warped I will refresh your memory. Hawks 21-Cowboys 20. You are a loser.

bettinondabearsss said:

Hawker, go ask a Chargers fan what happens to #1's. Saints fans thought Katrina was bad... Wonder if Reggie will tell everybody that he's a "classy" guy too, then throw a tantrum...

bettinondabearsss said:

And Hawker, I'll go and post wherever the F I like. And how would you know if i've been on the Aint's blog or not. Still feelin' like you know everything? Thought Sunday proved you didn't. 2ff

Look at it this way said:

The Seahawks were evenly matched with the bears with some major injuries and such. Someone had to win the game, and the bears did. It wasn't being better, it wasn't "rape," it was a good game a football which chanced for the bears.

As for the Dallas game, that was more of Karma. Cowboys really didn't have any good plays, they had spastic prayers which ended up working. The karma of that came back upon romo and the hawks won. Once again, evenly matched game.

Next year, however, Seahawks will not be a cursed team, and return to the superbowl, and shove footballs up the opponents' arses

bettinondabearsss said:

Got the easy part done.... talkin' about it. Almost sounds like an Urlacher comment to himself. I'll say it for him.

bettinondabearsss said:

I think Seattle got the "karma" in Chicago for the Dallas game. But that's just me.

Hawker37 said:

bettinondadumbasses,

Posting at 2:49 AM? Do you not have a life?

jason said:

I think it is funny how the Sea Girls fans keep saying it does not matter how many super bowls you win. I just can't get over it.

But, yet they all long too win one every year. Also, they praised all year that they were the defending NFC champs. ARE KIDDING ME!

I think Hawker37 just does not know how it feels to win one. I know if you talk to the 49ers and steeler fans (who have won 5 themselves) they would all share the same sentiment as the Cowboy fans.

Hawker37, the winning feeling is unexplainable. It is an experience that last a lifetime. It is unfortunate that you will never know what it feels like.

Hey look at this way.........at least you did not make it the big game and Blow it (like the Sea Girls did last year). LOL

bettinondabearsss said:

Yes, I have a life. I know my living in Wa. St. makes that difficult to fathom, but if you could pause from your "losing battle", (pun intended) with a mentally challenged Cowboys fan, and bolstering excuses for losing year after year, you might understand how it's possible for a person to have a life AND be on the internet no matter what time of day it is. Go get some rest. Maybe you can "dream" up some more great excuses.

bettinondabearsss said:

Need to put an "Hawks Losing Excuses" Museum next door to the Jimi Hendrix one. Then Seattle will have 1 more thing nobody else in an NFL city can boast.

Hawker37 said:

bettinondadumbasses,

I am not making any excuses. We are a winning team and have been for quite a while. Also wasn't it the Bears who were making excuses last year when Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith beat them silly last year by themselves? We will see what your excuses are this Sunday. And in case you have forgotten, since the silly Super Bowl Shuffle the bears have sucked miserably.

Jason said:

YEAH thats right they are winning team.............Until they CHOKE in the playoffs year after year. I think that is called playoff pretenders. LMAO

Oh and in case you have forgotten since 1976 you all have been filled with false hope year after year. HOPING AND LONGING TO WIN ONE TO FINALLY SHOW THE WORLD THAT THEY REALLY DO PLAY FOOTBALL IN THE PACIFIC NORTH WEST.

OR DO THEY!

bettinondabearsss said:

They do... until it counts.

bettinondabearsss said:

I'm waitin' for 'em to be famous for bein' buried by Mt. Rainier or shaken into the Sound. Maybe that'll muffle the crying and excuses.

Hawker37 said:

Oh when the Saints, go marching in, Oh when the Saints go marching into the Super Bowl right of the top of the Bears...

Sing-a-long bettinondadumbasses it will make you feel better.

bettinondabearsss said:

bettinondabearsss said:

Well, they shut the knowledgable Hawks fans, up. All are ORANGE&BLUE. Need to look at your Crayola box to figure it out?

bettinondabearsss said:

Not a fair-weather anything. I prefer bad weather, anyway. You assumed because I mentioned those 3 programs I was saying they were all "My teams". Just seeing a pattern of color, and Championship play, coinciding. See? You still don't know everything. But keep tryin'.

bettinondabearsss said:

LMFAO @ the EXPERTS. (and New Orleans) CHICAGO BEARS, NFC CHAMPIONS. 1 to go. Feel lucky they didn't treat Seattle that way. Gotta love the negative press all week. Great motivator. Glad the ones that like to talk, aren't playing the game. And yeah, I'm still here. Was told to be sure and come back after the game to see if I was still smug. Not being smug. Just confident in my team. As confident in their ability as they are.
