I think it's safe to say the rust has fallen off of Shaun. Yet again the stud shines in prime time as the RB torches GB for a season-high 201 yards (a career-high 40 carries), against a team that hadn't given up 100 yards to a back this season. Give Matt another week (and less snow) and as the rust falls off, I think there are some very sunny skies ahead for the Seahawks -- heading towards the playoff with a two game lead in the NFC West. And while Jerramy needs to catch the ball, DJ was superb. Other than the turnovers the feel of the game (I have yet to watch it on the DVR) was all Seahawks. It never felt like it was out of reach for Holmgren's crew. And in end, the point spread matched the opening line -- 10 points. One last point, kudos to the special teams. I know the Packers are heavily wounded, sapping at the strength of their special teams. But Nate seemed about to break through every time. Frozen tundra in Seattle? Snow favored the Packers? Welcome back Shaun. Welcome back Mr. MVP. 3 Comments |
I think that Matt Hasselbeck has shaken a lot of the rust off tonight, especially in the second half. Making up for those four interceptions with the touchdowns certainly helps, and you could tell he was wanting to get that tempo back up again.
What a game Shaun Alexander had, too. 201 yards on 40 carries. We have a running game again (although I must say that Maurice Morris has done an admirable job filling in for Shaun Alexander while he was out). I think Christmas has come early for the Seahawks in getting Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander back in the lineup.
I thought the defense played a lot better in the second half as well.
All around a great Monday Night game.
NEVER GIVE UP! BLEED SEAHAWKS BLUE! GO SEAHAWKS!
That was an amazing game! I totally lost my voice! What a blast... I can't believe some people left the game at half time (a notable amount of people near me did leave and didn't come back). What idiots! That was easily the best game I've even been to live any sport, any time!
Not to be a negative nancy but we got lucky. We did a good job of coming back and all but lets face it giving up only 7 offensive points off of 4 turnovers speaks more to the ineptness of green bay and the aging of Mr. Farve. Alexander looked good but I'm going to wait and see how he performs against in Denver before I jump back on his band wagon. I will say that being able to run the ball effectively allows clock management and it gives our small defense time to rest and stay fresh through the latter portions of the game. Lets see if our team can build off this win and carry some momentum into December.
