Huard, a hero in KC!

1:10 PM Sun, Oct 29, 2006 |

With his playing status in question because of a groin injury, Damon Huard guts it out as I predicted on my blog last night. His little brother Brock is dancing around the newsroom right now, but the Seahawks nation is signing the blues. What's up with the Hawk's defense. Larry Johnson and Huard torch the hawks defense. Time to start blogging. What's wrong Hawk fans?

The Seahawks defense did not play like we know they can, but I can't help but think they were not the primary reason for the loss today. Am I the only one who thinks our choice of a quarterback replacement is off? I'm all for giving second and third chances, but when you consistantly prove that you cannot step up when the game is on the line, then I say move aside for the next in line; that being either Greene or Hamdan. Maybe they can make it through a game with only 1 interception.

Chris/Brock, this is a very talented team but this team will go no where with this defense playing as it is. We can get Matt back and Shaun back, will outscore so teams, but bottomline we can win if the defense cannot get some stops, stop the big plays. Damon had a bad groin and we put no pressure on him. The secondary is very suspect. Question for the pizza, Sims looked very solid today beside Walter. Do you agree we should put Sims there long term and let Spencer wait until the center position is open. He comes off the ball much better than Spencer.

Cheers

Chris,
I went to the Seahawks game last week vs. the Vikings and watched the Hawks play awful in all three parts of the game....special teams, defense and offense.

This week special teams played much better only giving KC excellent field positon once at the start of the game. Offense wasn't too bad...except for the running game. Seneca did well for his first start.

Defense got the some turnovers and we ended up with points off them. But we gave up way too many yards to Larry Johnson, missed too many tackles and Trufant, a fellow Coug, got burned big time. Defense wins championships and the Seahawks go nowhere unless their defense steps up. They look lathargic at times, unmotivated and out of sync. Is their defensive troubles due to the safetys not covering guys close enough, giving them too much cushion? What is it? Is it because we haven't had a good enough pass rush over the last few weeks? Do we make some more changes in the defense or do we shake up the defensive coaches?

tackling was left back in Kirkland,my wife noticed that and she isn't a football guru. also marcus trufant is being burned way to many times on big plays, which is not looking good for future deals. there are times when these players bring it togather and look like a true playoff contender, other times they are inconsistant which keeps people wondering.if they want respect they'll have to lose the on again, off again act and play as one.
