Coach Mike Holmgren announced this afternoon in his weekly press conference that last year's MVP, Shaun Alexander, is out several weeks with a cracked bone in his left foot. The team's star running back was on crutches today at team headquarters in Kirkland. The left foot, which had been sore since the Lions game, was worsened some time during yesterday's crushing of the NY Giants. Maurice Morris will start in next week's game in Chicago. Looks like NBC will have to fix all those advertisements setting up a showdown of Alexander versus Defensive Player of the Year, Brian Urlacher. 1 Comments |
Thank goodness the Bye week is coming up after Da Bears... I'd say (literally) throw our 4- and even 5-wide sets at them all evening long with a few runs of the Mack Truck to keep them honest with the blitz - make Urlacher look like Eli Manning in the 1st quarter yesterday and sound like Jeremy Shockey. We can still pull this one out - Bears are only 2.5 pt favorites this morning??? Puh-leez! 4-0 here we come.
